Vintage SAOTSUNI Japanese Split Bamboo Fly Rod. Excellent Shape 5 piece combo
Here is a great looking and feeling split bamboo fly rod. There is a very legible label“SAOTSUNI” at the base of the pole. The pole measure 8 feet long and weighs around 6 ounces. There are five pieces to the pole. When put together with the fittings one makes a much shorter and stiffer pole than the 8’ fly rod. The other two extra pieces are end tips. On of them is missing its base metal piece. I believe the photos will demonstrate the condition of this pole. Please feel free to ask questions before bidding. Thank you. Vintage 9' Fly Rod Marked VIM Made in U.S.A.
Up for bids is this vintage 9' Fly Rod with sock. This is 3-piece and each piece is 36" The rod is metal. The ends have brass inserts where the ends go together and there is brass that holds the eyelets on. The handle is wood and it says on the metal part that reel fits into it says VIM with an arrow on each side of it the ring that holds other end of reel says Made in U.S.A. The rod has some paint chipping and it looks like maybe it was green and then painted black. There is an interesting story with this item I bought this from a friend of mine that used to go fishing with MORT NEFF who used to have an outdoors show here in Michigan. This rod has been my backup for the last two years. I've only lawn cast it. The cork and everything about the rod is like new. I'm doing a lot more Czech nymphing and have made the change to 10' rods that's why I'm selling this one. I think you like it. The action is smooth. Not too stiff. Orvis rates it as an 8.0 on their scale. Come with a nice case and the warranty booklet and card. The rod has been registered with Orvis. The serial number is B 19652 indicating a 1961-62 era rod. The rod remains in EXCELLENT SHAPE in the original Fenwick cardboard rod tube. I have no history on the rod-this was an estate sale find from the attic of an OLD HOUSE and nobody knew anything about this fishing rod. The rod is marked FENWICK Feralite B 19652 FF80 3 1/2 oz The condition is fantastic- the cork handle looks almost unused-it appears to have been handled some-I took a couple close up photos for you to see. All the line guides appear to be in fantastic condition as are the line guide wraps. This is an immaculate Sage 12 weight custom graphite fly rod. This is a custom made rod from the mid 1980's and one of the first sage rods. I inherited it and as far as I know. It has been used very little.The cork is clean, and the reel seat is immaculate. As far as i can tell there are no scratches or marks. This is a beautiful tarpon rod.

You are bidding on a vintage Bristol copper hexagon collapsing fly rod.All original.Can be used as is at 8ft plus long.Probably was a nine ft rod.If you look at picture 3 the last section when you pull it out is twisted and split.I guess I would either shorten it and use as an 8 footer or if you have the know all repair it.Nice cork handle,all nice soldered original guides and tip original green paint and original decal.Rod measures 39 1/2 inches closed.Still a nice vintage hard to find rod.

You are bidding on a South Bend 1140 Oreno-Matic Free Stripping Fly Rod Reel with its original box and purchase receipt from February 5th. 1961. This reel is in excellent cosmetic and mechanical condition with a couple of very light scratches visible on close inspection. The auto wind is very smooth and the spool spins quickly and smoothly when the retrieve lever is depressed. This reel was either never used or only used very lightly. The box has a water stain on the top and on one side. The other three sides are in good condition and would display very nicely on a shelf. I will always combine shipping on multiple purchases.
