This rod is in very good condition. I'm not much of a spey caster but it throws overhand quite welll also. I just prefer single hand rods. Tube and sock are in good condition. There are a couple of marks on the inside of the sock flap and a couple of scratches on the tube here and there. From the Winston Website: With an eye on the detailed blending of quality. Consitency, and power, this rod will meet the expections of the angler who has a desire for the switch rod application with slighty shorter heads and heavier tips. Great in the surf for casting overhead, as well as spey style on a smaller steelhead or Atlantic salmon stream. Grain weight ranger ... morewould be 430-469 grains for Scandi lines, Skagit should be around 20 to 50 grains more. If you notice one of the pics shows that the rod has grain window of 447-478 written on it. My favorite choice for swinging classic steelhead patterns on the tight confines of the Trinity River in California is the 11'6" Winston BII-MX 6-weight. This rod. We took this rod out back to the casting pond and a 5 weight line works well. This rod throws’ big loops and is SLOW. When I say slow I mean slow like bamboo but not as heavy. The overall condition of the rod is fair. The reel seat and cork look good but some of the wraps are not perfect and there is a chip in the rod at the end of the male ferule on the third section. A great Temple Fork Outfitters fly rod for your consideration. I bought this rod new a couple years ago for a saltwater trip to Belize. The rod performed flawlessly. It has seen very light use(less than 10 days on the water) I find it a little too much rod for most of my fishing around home. Which revolves around trout, smallmouth and the occassional carp in the river. I was so impressed with the value of the TFO Lefty Kreh Professional Series, that I just acquired a 9' 7 wt. My wife tells me the fishing rod collection is not to grow this year, so this 8wt. is headed down the road. These rods have a fast action by my standards and are capable of throwing heavy lines and flies into a stiff breeze. Japan. circa 1960) It is my understanding that these were o riginally sold by thethousands to GIs in a light long box with lures and huge flies. I acquired this South Bend rod from a fly fishing estate last year and thought that somebody could get some use out of it. Here are the specs: It has obviously been refinished and was done pretty decently with all sections measuring 36 1/2" The ferrules are a litlle loose but should tighten up to be fishable with a little parafin wax. Antique/Vintage Bamboo Fishing Rod with un-marked fly reel
This Rod is 5'6" long and very old. I have had it for over twenty years as a wall display. I have tried to find the make. But no luck. It is a two piece bamboo construction. The reel has no markings on it to determine the manufacturer, however it is newer than the rod. This would provide someone else with a wall piece as it has for me. Need to rid ourselves of things, so this piece is a must go. This is not a business. We are just 2 people with full time jobs who enjoy a hobby selling items we have picked up at rummage sales, estate sales, etc. I enjoy finding vintage items but don't have room for collections, so I love to pass these items on to homes where they will be treasured. Fished it once in awhile, but, mostly has been stored. I have a PVC rod tube that I will include with the rod, however, it is not original and has no end cap. This is a sought after Ritz Parabolic action fly rod. It is a 5 weight rod, 2 pieces and is 7 FT 4 Inches long. Perfect trout rod. The serial numbers on the butt section and tip section match.

THE FEMALE ON THE BUTT SECTION HAS SOME SCRATCHES, ALL OF THE FERRULES HAVE A DARK FINISH ON THE EXTERIORS. I SAW ONE OF THESE RODS IN JUST ABOUT THE SAME CONDITION. A BIT CLEANER, SELL FOR CLOSE TO $500.00 AT A TACKLE SHOW TWO YEARS AGO.
