Offered for sale is a Vintage Hardy Bros. Ltd. HYDRA" 3 3/4" Fly Reel, set for Left Hand Wind, with an ebonite crank handle, smooth brass foot, and a two screw latch with a very shinny finish, the maker's name and reel style is engraved on the back plate. This is a very old model, probably made in the late 1950s to early 1960s. Manufacturing records of Hardy Bros. Ltd. suggest that this model was made from 1958-1967. The reel is in fine working condition and could use a bath, and oiling and a good home to either display in one's collection, or to use fly fishing to everyone's envy. The reel would be very appropriate for fishing for Sea Trout, Grilse, Salmon, Steelhead, Artic Char and Lake Trout. Here we have an old Vintage House of Hardy fly box full of seatrout and salmon flies. There are 75 flies in the box with quite a lot looking to be unused all the rest look very good to use, all traditional patterns singles, doubles and trebles. Original makers bag with badge still present. 7ft in length this is the 4lb line model. Writing on blank reads. Registered Trademark Palakona. The Hardy Wanless 4lb line rod. Cork in very good condition with no damage. Both reel fixings present. All guides present and correct. Silver fittings on the butt section all original and stamped correctly with serial number and various Hardy Makers Logos and Stamps. The spare tip has the end eye missing( see PIC 9) easily fixed. The rest of this spare tip section is in superb condition. The stopper in the butt is not original. But only serves to stop the reel fittings dropping off. When the Greeks believed the plant symbolized fertility and love. The violet has also been used for a multitude of medicinal and cosmetic benefits, with all parts of the plant having uses. Today, there are between 400 and 500 violet species, with one of the most commonly grown being the sweet violet, a fragrant, delicate plant that blooms in late spring through early summer. Cultivating sweet violets from seeds is not difficult, but the seeds do need a period of stratification, or cooling, before they will germinate. Instructions 1.Fill the seed starter tray or shallow pan with sphagnum peat moss. Vermiculite, seed starter mix or clean coarse sand. Moisten the planting medium so it is as wet as a wrung-out ... moresponge, not soggy. 2.Sprinkle your violet seeds on top of the moistened planting medium. Then cover the seeds with 1/8 inch of the planting medium. If you are using sphagnum peat moss, do not cover the seeds; they will fall into the peat moss when you sprinkle them on. 3.Cover the pan of planted violet seeds with clear plastic wrap or put the pan into a clear plastic bag and close it securely. 4.Place the covered planted pan in your refrigerator for four to six weeks so the seeds can stratify. for sell is seeds that i have collected from my sempervivum collection you will receive over 10000 seeds their will be some plant matter mixed in. The seeds are so small you can hardly see them be careful when planting because they float like dust. The smaller ... moreof two CLS models has the capacity for a WF7 with 70m of backing. At 7.2oz(204g) this is a weighty reel, however, on the butt of a 10ft rod this feels fine and that large diameter arbour stores line in large coils, lets me pick up line fast and makes the drag that bit smoother. Hardy has opted to link the spool to the frame with a captive nut. Nothing wiggles or moves which shouldn't wiggle or move. Remove the spool to reveal the cassette. This has the most user friendly means of getting spools in and out that I have met to date– slide the lock catch to unlock and the spool comes out, slide the catch to lock and your spool is locked. More complicated to make than the typical o-ring mechanism but so much nicer to use! Switching drag direction is similarly simple, unscrew that brass nut at the centre of the spool and turn the bearing– no tools, or screws– easy! Look at the edge of the cassette. The designer has set wee holes around the spool, each labelled with a fly-line term for line size and density. In displayed. But not burned condition, this bees wax candle set was designed by John Hardy. Style info on the box label shows GS4000SBOT Color: IV/GR. The two taper candles measure 11 3/8" tall. The smaller square candle measures 2 1/4" tall and 2' across the base area. The larger square candle measures 5 1/2" tall and 3" across the base area. Contained in the lid are a product info brochure and a beemitt for cleaning the candles. The candles are unburned, and look as if they could use a bit of cleaning up with the beemitt, which I will leave to the new owner as the beemitt looks like one of those things that once out of the packaging, would never go back in the same package. YELLOW GROOVE BAMBOO LIVE RHIZOMES ROOT COLD HARDY TO -15° F
Yellow Groove is an an amazing cold hardy bamboo. This is growing along the Delaware River in Central New Jersey. The bamboo shoots of this variety are particularly tasty in the spring. The cumes are strong enough to use as building material and reach up to 2" diameter in central New Jersey. You will be receiving two rhizomes that came from plants over eight feet tall. They would be sold as one gallon plants if they were potted. The rhizome ball is aprox. 12" in diameter. These are bare root rhizomes packed in compost and will arrive in a flat rate shipping envelope or or small flat rate box. They will emerge in the spring and reach up to 25 feet within five years. When you receive the sealed package. Open the ziploc and add water if the compost is dry. It is important that the rhizomes do not dry out.
