Free Shipping Location: Japan This is a vintage Daisy Heddon Model 320 Fly Reel. It is in excellent working condition with no mechanical problems. Look at all the photos for the cosmetic ... morecondition. Note that the reel and spool were marked in black. But this appears to be black nail polish, which can be fairly easily scraped off with a fingernail without marring the reel's finish. I will leave finishing that job to the new owner. The(very) old fly line(a Scientific Anglers Air Cel Wet Tip WF-6-F/S) and old backing are included, but may not be fishable. It is now set up for left-hand wind, but can be easily changed to right-hand wind. This classic reel belonged to my Dad, and I remember him buying a couple of these as spares in the 1960's, and this one, while more than 50 years old, likely wasn't used very much. I managed to lose the one he gave me at some point about 30 years ago. The reel frame is 3 1/2 inches in outside diameter and 1 inch wide. The spool is 3 1/8 inches in outside diameter and 3/4 inch wide. What is interesting about these reels is that they were assembled in the USA out of parts made in Japan(as marked on the reel foot) and they were high quality but relatively inexpensive reels. As you can see, the Heddon 320 is essentially a copy of the classic Hardy Lightweight fly reel. I am not sure if parts are interchangeable. These Heddon 320's are quite rare(certainly more rare than the Hardy reels) and extremely hard to find in this condition. An essential for your collection, even if you only collect Hardy reels, but the reel can also be used for any fresh-water fly fishing. I have too many fly reels that I don't use, so I am thinning the herd. I will be listing some other fly reels and duck calls this week, so take a look at my other auctions. I accept only Paypal. It is in excellent playing condition(with the exception of the usual light scuffs and scratches you would expect of an instrument of this vintage) About the Low Whistle In the late sixties Eddie& Finbar Furey were one of the biggest draws in the U.K. folk scene. A highlight of this remarkable act was Finbar's composition'The Lonesome Boatman' Finbar played this originally on an Indian Bamboo Ab flute. Eventually after years of wear and tear. Finbar became worried at the rapid demise of this ethic alto instrument. The ageing ... moreflute was roughly forty-one centimetres in length. The only substance to it at the end of its busy days was the tape and chewing gum that held it together. When one night Finbar sat on it at a party- it was time for Bernard to act fast. Just a slightly more mat finish and brand new in box and velvet pouch) With Hardy Box. Reel case and unregistered warranty card. It is almost as new- one slight nick(smaller than 1/3 of a pin head) see photo 4. Otherwise perfect. Doesn't affect the reel at all and you probably wont ever notice it. Up for auction is this 1 st edition Hardy Bros. of England 4 ½" Longstone sea reel. The original Longstone reels from the 1960’s were black in color. After that. They came with a grey enamel finish. This reel is over 40 years old and is in decent condition throughout other than a few marks here and there. It has twin ebonite handles; a smooth alloy foot and a rectangular lineguard that can be moved for either right-hand or left-hand use. The drag control knob is located in the middle of the spool and is held in place with a left-hand threaded slotted screw and the on/off clicker button is located on the back of the reel. This is an old Hardy Featherweight fly reel with 2-screw line guard. The check is also an old MKII style. Similar to old St. George and Perfect reels- very rare for lightweight series. The reel is mechanically sound with no spool wobble or rubbing on the frame. The surface leading is scratched off, especially around the rims, from honest use- adds patina to this old reel. It is set up as LHW and this is how I have been using for years- works perfectly(I can switch it to RHW before shipping if you like) It has the Hardy sound and when a good fish takes your line, it just gives you a smile. The spool runs very freely. On/off click rachet. Brass foot and drum brake lever. Brass Bickerdyke line guard. Counterbalanced handle and reverse taper ebonite winder. Vintage Hardy'The Goodwin No 1' reel. 4" diameter. Built by Hardy in Alnwick between 1951 and 1954. Described in the 1951 catalogue as being suitable for sea fishing from shore, pier or boat, spinning, trolling and fly fishing! The back plate. unfiled) foot and line guard are made as one casting. The reverse of the back plate has 3 medallions, the Prince of Wales feathers, details of the makers and model and the Royal Warrant of George V. There is a sliding brass click check select button. The inside of the reel retains most of the black Japanned finish, however the exterior finish has largely worn away. Complete with a high quality. Contemporary, hard cardboard reel box with oiling instructions. The unperforated line drum is made from bright duralumin. It has twin bulbous ebonite handles. Both drum and frame are said to be unaffected ... moreby sea water. It bears the maker's mark JR and XII. This rare reel is mechanically perfect and has NOT been messed about with. EARLY VTG ORVIS CFO IV Screw Back Fly Reel W/ SPARE SPOOL England Hardy
This is one of the earliest Hardy made CFO IV's with the screw back spindle. It is in excellent working condition and has one of the nicest. Smoothest clicks that I have ever heard on a reel. When I acquired it, the screw for the spindle was loose, which explains some of the scrapes on the inside of the spool, but I have completely gone over the reel and lubricated it with Hot Sauce. It is now in perfect working order and I will guarantee it or your money back. The spare spool had a tiny piece of the inside lip broken off, I filed the sharp corners so that it would not grab the fly line(shown in last pic) Works perfect. Shipping is $6.50 to the lower 48.

Hardy Sunbeam 8/9 reel with Spare Spool
Used Sunbeam 8/9 single action fly reel and matching spool. Made by Hardy Brothers of England. Reel and spool were purchased in 1980. The fly reel and spool are in very good condition, both mechanically and cosmetically. Surface finish has very little dulling, a few small scuffs etc. typical for a used reel of this vintage but nothing detrimental to the usefulness of the reel and no roughness on the spool rims. Both reel and spool are mechanically sound, tight and in perfect working condition. No spool or handle wobble. The reel body has an agate line guide and spacer plug in perfect condition. Reel is set for right hand retrieve, but can be reversed very easily by simply reversing the position of the line guide, plug, and click pawls. Reel case and parts booklet are included. I have another 8/9 Sunbeam and matching spool that I will list ... morevery soon.

A no named plate wind reel. Mostly Brass 3.5 inch Heavy. Almost 11 ounces empty with pretty good capacity. That is a full delta long 9/10 on it with no backing. Line not included, Works good. Clicker is light, original unfiled reel foot. It does not fit modern reel seats. The pillars need that little wire locking washer thingy to make it tight but it works even though the pillars are loose. A tiny bit of tlc would be good. I had this on a bamboo switch which it balanced perfectly.
