Bronze“Hardy& Hayes Co. Clock and“PHBN” Barometer Desk Set Description: Recently. I was helping a widow clean out her deceased husband’s workshop. It was actually his amazing collection of Antique American tools I was there to buy. But. Behind a bunch of manuals I found a dilapidated box with this amazing Bronze piece inside. This item is a side by side Clock and Holsteric Barometer Desk Set. The clock is made by HARDY& HAYES of Pittsburg and the Barometer to the left of the clock is made by PHBN( Naudet Pertuis Hulot Barometres) of France. Both barometer and clock are seated in a bronze case on a solid bronze base with(4) balled feet. This item measures 6 ¾” long x 2 ¼” wide and weighs 7 pounds. Normally. I would NEVER mess around with any precision pieces especially antique ones. But. In this case I felt confident enough(rightfully ... moreso) to unscrew the back plate of each piece. It turns out that is the proper thing to do anyways. Behind the clock is where it is wound and set. Behind the Barometer there are no controls anyways. The underside base of this piece is very interesting. The underside base plate is made of wood. It is held on by two screws with leather washers. There is a serial# that is professionally stamped into the wood and a date that is obviously hand etched into the wood. The date is“5-11-53” Obviously. This piece is probably 20-30 years old than 1953 so I am guessing that the date is probably when this piece was serviced last. I’ve seen other precision instruments of various sorts that have a crude“log” of service dates. I am sure my photos will best further describe this awesome piece. Condition: Well…where do I begin? Under the two removable back plates it is very clean. So. There are no issues with dirtiness. Both back plates screw on/off problem free. The threading is clean and not consistent. Currently. The clock is not active at all though. I do not know why it is not running. In the rear of the clock there are(3) controls. One is for moving the hands to set the time. One

Here is a vintage Jones Fine Bread advertising fan. It also says to"Attend the Church of your Choice each Sunday" It was made my Hardy C. Harvey of Waco Texas. It is even stamped. Made in USA. The front side of the fan depicts an interesting religious scene. It looks to be many different people visiting baby Jesus. It has nice coloring but it is in well used condition. There looks to have been some tape put on it some years ago. The corners do show some damage as well. Overall though, the print and artwork is very clear. With all paperwork and included is a WF3F Cortland Sylk(line is not made of silk) series 444 fly line and backing in EX/EX+ as well. The line is at least a 50.00 item if purchased new and a Reel value in this condition CA residents add 9% sales tax. Thanks for stopping by for a look. What I have is a Hardy Proaxis 9' 8wt fly rod. The Proaxis is the saltwater version of the acclaimed Zenith line. The Proaxis uses the same Sintrix material that is the enhanced 3M Powerlux resin. This rod comes with rod. Ferrel plugs, rod sock, rod tube, rod tube sock and warranty card. Everything as if you opened it day one. Aside from soiled cork, this rod is in excellent condition. Fished for only one season, this split time with a spinning rod. I would say this rod was fished maybe 15 times. The rod is a rocketship. I would suggest you line up to traditional 9wt line or use the Rio Outbound. Airflo 40 or Wulff Ambush in 8wt. You'll be able to BOOM casts. The siren song of the two-hander has called. That is the only reason why I am passing this rod on. This is my personal rod. I bought it from ... moremy local fly shop. I have here a vintage Hardy Bros. Marquis#5 fly fishing reel in a Hardy Bros soft case. It fits perfectly. The reel has a label on the reel seat marked Ultra WF-5-F. The side is marked. Marquis#5 Made by Hardy Bros Ltd England. The reel measures 3" across the sides. It is 1 1/16 across the reel. The reel is in very good condition with just a little discoloration to the finish in the center. It shows handling scratches seen mostly on the unpainted side. This is a Hardy Perfect 3-7/8 fly reel. I am not sure of the vintage but would guess this reel may be from the 50s. This Perfect has ribbed brass foot. The line guide pillar has only a slight amount of wear in enamel finish only. It is a right hand wind reel. Mechanically and cosmetically excellent. Except that a former owner lightly scratched the intials RWH(possibly for right wind hand? on back plate. Reel is in excellent operating condition with a strong drag.
