This is a Lews Lew's Childre BB-1NG baitcasting reel that is in nice condition. It has been serviced before selling. My friend took the reel apart and lubricated all necessary parts with the correct lubricant. It is very smooth on retrieve. The drag is smooth and it disengages/engages as it should. The rod has a metal ferrule, the kind you have to lubricate with"nose oil. For those who don't know what I am speaking of, to lubricate a metal ferrule on a rod, you roll the male portion of the ferrule on the side of your nose to pick up the oil from your skin; works great. The rod is 42 years old and has never been used for fishing. It is in excellent shape for its age. Any wear that you see is from moving it from east coast to west coast on several occasions. This rod is a LEWS 7'0" fiberglass. Medium action CRANKIN STICK. I believe that this model was originally endosrsed by David Fritts. I bought the rod in used condition during 2006 and have never used it. The cork grips are in like new condition and show no evidence of having ever been used. The guides are solid and in alignment. There are 8 guides which includes the rod tip. The rods label indicates the following information: FC12971 7"0" Medium Action 10- 25 lb. line 3/8- 1 oz lures FF4 The reel seat is cracked and separated; it does not affect the holding of the reel to the rod. Nor should it affect the performance of the rod since the butt and the foregrip are both securely cemented to the rod blank
