The auction also includes a spare ST1025 tip which is intended to permit the casting of slightly lighter lures than the stock ST1026 tip. The rod is rated for 3/8 to 1 1/2 oz. lures and 10- 20 lb. line. I am the original owner of the rod. Having bought it new in 1987. The rod has seen only light use, and I believe is fairly rated in excellent condition, particularly when its vintage is considered. There are a few very light, cosmetic scratches on the rod blank and there is some ridging on the foregrip and the handle. The spare tip also has some very light scratches, but it has never been used. I am selling my G Loomis 9 foot 8 weight IMX fly rod. Rod number FR1088(Fly Rod 108" long 8 weight) These rods are very fast action and a joy to cast. This rod has never been used. I own several G Loomis rods and this one never made it out of it's case. The only damage I noted was the rod sock was frayed at the top where it ties. Otherwise this is like a new rod. This rod has a fighting butt attached to the rod.

I FOUND A VITRITE-LUMINOID AD FROM THE 1880's IN GOOGLE SHOWING THESE SOCKETS. IN THE ARTICLE IT STATED THAT THIS COMPANY WAS IN A PATENT BATTLE WITH EDISON AND THEY STOPPED SELLING IN THIS COUNTRY.
