I recently moved to Phoenix. Still haven't figured out what choices I made that landed me here. Maybe bad karma from a previous life? Maybe cosmic justice from when I used to keep fish. maxed out my quota for this lifetime while salmon fishing in Alaska during college. idk. Whatever the reason. Here I am and will be for at least 2 years. After that, maybe I won't be in a place quite like Alaska still, maybe it will be some kind of purgatory. Like a halfway house to real living(otherwise known as"fishing" At any rate. I bought this rod last year. I found that it cast more accurately and with better feel than my brand new Sage ONE which cost almost twice the price of the St. Croix, and which I immediately sold. St. Croix makes a good rod. Their customer service(I've been told by the owner of the local rod shop) is very ... moregood. My loss. And maybe yours too if bad mojo sticks with the rod. HI And away goes my second fly rod for Tarpon. Another Sage 1290-3 RPLX-i. This one a bit more used than the first. Comes with original rod tube and sock. This solid Sage has signs of slight boat rash in places, all very light and not only cosmetic, but not really visible till you look for it. In no way is the rod affected by the marks. Cork handle and fighting grip are in fine shape, as is the reel seat section. Plenty of hard fighting life left in it. I know as soon as it sells I will get the opportunity to throw flies at some tarpon, so I really hate to see it go, it is my last 12wt rod and only one big reel left, too. 4 Handwritten Diaries Alfred Loomis Fenner Cazenovia Madison Co NY 1871-90 FULL
I will be listing several diaries and diary lots as“buy it now’s” because I’m trying to get through my inventory and am working on some other diary projects so sadly I don’t have time to thoroughly read and research particular diaries. This group of four diaries all belonged to Alfred Loomis who was from Fenner and Cazenovia. Madison County New York. They date from 1871, 1874, 1878 and 1890. They are completely full of handwritten entries except for the 1878 diary and that only has 15 black pages in the beginning as his entries start on January 16 th. Other than that they are completely full. Alfred was born in 1835. Was the postmaster at one time, married Harriet and had three children Frank, Nannie and George. He was the son of George and Mary Loomis. I believe he was a farmer but his entries are not just about farming but so many other ... moreevents; many deaths, court cases, social activities and more. I’ve scanned several pages for you to see examples of some of those entries. On average they measure about 3” x 6” and the covers are quite worn but the pages and bindings look great. Wonderful price too for 4 diaries from one family.

The Territory of Dakota was formed March 2. 1861. It consisted of the northernmost part of the land acquired in the Louisiana Purchase. The name refers to the Dakota branch of the Sioux tribes which occupied the area at the time. It originally included large parts of Montana and Colorado but on November 2, 1889 it ended, when the remaining areas became the two states of North and South Dakota. Columbia. In this auction you are bidding on a used: G LOOMIS GL3 FR1689/10-3 SPEY ROD(14'0" 3pc 9/10wt Two-Handed Fly Rod) with Tube and Sock included The Loomis GL3 Series 14'0" 3pc 9/10wt Spey rod being auctioned here is superb condition ... moredespite its obvious age. Very well-cared for by its previous owner and seemingly seldom if ever fished. This smooth yet powerful two-hander shows virtually no noteworthy signs of cosmetic wear or tear that one might fear or expect in a rod of this vintage. As evidenced in the photos. The upper and lower cork grips show no hint staining from previous handling, and remain remarkably free from of any major chips, gouges, or excessive missing fill. While not pristine perhaps as it once was new. The sturdy up-locking reel seat still looks great and still functions perfectly too. A close review of the rod's matte-black blank from tip to butt reveals no signs of catastrophic abuse like deep scratches. Scores, or penetrating nicks that would in any way hint the rod's original strength or integrity as compromised. A close inspection of the rod's guides reveals no trace of tarnish. Rusting or oxidization present, with no grooving, deformation, or misalignment present either. A quick test-assembly and deep flexing of the rod confirms all ferrules as still tight-fitting. With no wobble, twisting, looseness or other signs of obvious distress recognized. Still in excellent shape
