This listing features a pair of vintage women’s riding pants which belonged Elizabeth(Betty) Hakes Harrer(1919-2002) Betty was the adopted daughter of Lee Pierson Loomis(1884-1964) and Margaret(Hakes) Loomis(1888-1975) Lee P. Loomis was an important figure in the newspaper company Lee Enterprises(Lee Group/ Lee Syndicate) Expanding the company into radio and TV. The Mrs. Margaret Loomis House(also known as the C.F. Franke House) at 320 1st St. SE, Mason City, Iowa, is listed on the national register of historical places. Betty’s biological parents were Clifford C. Hakes(1890-1961) and Gertrude Titus Hakes. Betty’s biological grandfather was the Rev. Webster Hakes(1858-1936) who served as the rector of Trinity Episcopal Church of Muscatine, Iowa, from 1911 to 1929. The pants have an overall length of approximately 37 1/2” when laid flat. Betty’s ... morename has been placed on the upper interior collar. The pocket is solid and not torn out. The eight 1/2” brown plastic-like buttons are firmly attached. The pants have a series of scattered brownish spots and at least one lighter tan spot. The seller has made no effort too clean or dry clean the pants and it is unclean if the spotting can be removed. There does not appear and tags on the pants detailing the types of linens used or the size. Who Became a Doctor after His Family Died of Tuberculosis. Which he too had, but survived. He Dedicated His Life to finding a cure, and ended up opening Loomis Sanatorium in the Catskills, Specifically for Tuberculosis Patients. Fresh Air and Beautiful Landscape was all part of the Therapy. The Sanatorium no longer Exists Today. James M. Shaw& Co. The Manufacturer, Was a Silver Maker and Distributor for Hotels and Railroads. It is a GL3, but not just any old GL3, this model is one of the older ones(still holds the warranty) with the rose wood reel seat. Gorgeous rod that has only been used a couple of times, but you wouldn't know it if it weren't for the faintest stain of egg dye on the cork.
