I do not know much about this reel but will try and describe. ... moreThis reel is marked on the side view pictures. DAM. Berlin West. Quick Finessa. on the bottom of the reel foot is shows. Made In West Germany. This reel seems to work good. It turns good/smooth. On the shaft of the reel handle it has a turn nut, you can turn it to fold the handle for storage. At the base of the reel handle there is a small lever, you can move it up and the reel will only turn reverse, go to the middle position and the reel can turn either way and go to the lower and it will turn only forward. I think the handle can be mounted on the right side as well so it can be used right or left handed. As you look at the pictures you will notice there is mainly paint wear. I opened the bail and turned the reel handle and the bail closed like it should. Mitchell 300 SPECIAL MADE CASTING REEL FOR 25TH ANNIVERSARY
This special reel was made for spinning casting tournament for distance casting on the Garcia Corp 25th year anniversary in 1973. I was told only the participants got one each to keep and only 50 of these special reels were ever made. The Garcia Corp went out of business in 1978 and in 1980 ABU Sweden purchased the company and Mitchell form a relationship with Browning Arms. Up for auction is a Vintage 1972. 6th-7th Version, Garcia Mitchell Series 300 Spinning Reel. I not sure of the version, 6th or 7th, the anti-reverse lever and the engraving of the number 300 is that of a 6th. But serial number- B779782 is 1972) This reel has Made in France cast in the rear side of the reel. Included are 2 extra spools, one deep and one shallow with one spool case. The spool on the reel is a deep version. The reel is functional. It feels a little stiff probably because of old grease, I haven't used or lubed it in well over 20 years but it still works. A Black Mitchell 300 PRO which is a high Speed fishing reel. With the higher speed retrieval gears and longer retrieve arm and wood handle. The serial number on the foot looks likeT.4. The paintwork has very little losses.Some marks and wear from use, a lot of the spool red line is worn off, the body is good the foot has been re-sprayed, the cover has ROLLER BEARING in a gold transfer on the top of the cover plate. Allmost all of the gold paint is worn on the MITCHELL 300 except PRO on the plastic name plate badge. The back of the body has MITCHELL in gold and PRO in red. The bail arm works as it should. The bail arm is black and is worn thin but in a good condition. The anti reverse works as it should and is the silent type. The reel has a MARINE ANODISED SPOOL fitted and a spare spool the same.
