This auction is for a very old pre-Garcia Mitchell 300 spinning reel. MADE IN FRANCE. And great for freshwater and light saltwater fishing. This reel is in excellent condition mechanically and has been completely serviced. When I say the reel has been serviced I mean it has been completely stripped down and soaked in mineral spirits over night. Thoroughly cleaned, and then reassembled with synthetic grease and oil to prevent rust and hardening of the lubricants. a service I normally charge $15.00 for) This reel has all the original internal parts. With no wear on the gears or any other part inside. This reel functions perfectly and shows minimal signs(see pictures) of wear or use. Considering it's age. This reel is in absolutely excellent condition. There is a tiny bit of scuffing on the lower right bottom of the gearcase but you gotta look close to see it. There is not a hint of corrosion except for the screw at the handle. The reel is very smooth, has a snappy bail and is almost flawless for a reel of this age, you'll have to look hard to find a nicer 300 on the market. This is a really nice Mitchell 300. It has the large lettering and new anti-reverse. It also has two spools. One shallow(blue backing) and one large. For your consideration are two Mitchell 300 spinning reels and one Ted Williams 510. I believe all date to at least the 60s. With the one older Mitchell 300 with the wingnut style lever dating earlier. The Mitchells are made in France and the Ted Williams is made in Italy. The Ted Williams reels is roughly the same size as a Mitchell 306. Cosmetically. The Mitchell reels are in very good, including some scratches, nicks and edge wear; the Ted Williams is in very good- cosmetic condition with more prevalent edge wear and nicks as well as pitting on the interior of the spool. Pair of Classic Garcia Mitchell Spinning Reels; One for Each Hand! The Mitchell 300 was designed for us"normal" folks. And the 301 was for"lefties" like my brother. No Offense! Both of these are nice reels that display some signs of their age, to include paint loss and scratches, as seen in the photos. I am selling both reels"As-Is" due primarily to their age and my inability to guarantee them. There are also two issues that I know of: The 300 seems loud. I mean these reels were loud anyway, but this one is louder. The second issue is that the handle on the 301 does not seem to screw all the way in- it is tight, but yet there is a gap between the base of the handle and the reel body. I am not sure if that is normal on the 301's or not; thought I'd better mention it. Please look at the photos and decide ... morethe condition for yourself. MITCHELL 300"45th Anniversary" PRO Up for auction is a nice. Unused, hard to find, Anny PRO. These reels were made to commemorate 45 years of reel production. And were made in very limited numbers! And come with a inspection sheet signed by Sconza and Metivier, the same 2 guys that will inspect and sign the limited number of these Pros made, this being the only pro with these sheets, this reel being number 3866. This one shows some normal over cleaning effects. Which will remove paint off the raised numbers and letters over time, but is in perfect mechanical shape, and has never been on a fishing rod!
