Listing is for a Vintage. Mid 80's Carl Newell P220-F Casting reel in very nice working order. Free Spool, clicker, drag and crank are all smooth. You don't see a lot of these around, but they are high quality, sturdy fishing reels. The Reel is missing the rod clamp, but easily fits in a typical reel seat. DOG Dachshund Hides in Rain, Peter Newell Antique Print
This print is from scarce book that is over100 years old. It is a lovely color plate. With a blank back and a tissue overlay. The artist is Peter Newell. A famous Victorian era illustrator. It depicts what looks to me like a clever dachshund dog. Hiding beneath a man's leg to protect him from a fierce rainstorm. Wonderful, whimsical image. The caption(written in faint blue-gray in the margin) reads: Out of what appeared to be a clear sky came the most extraordinary rain storm you ever saw. This particular chromolith is of exceptional quality because it used EIGHT colors. Which gives it a feeling of remarkable depth. The paper is heavy and toned cream with age. It has a blank back, meaning it was printed separately from the text for better quality and then tipped in or sewn into the book when it was bound. It would look charming framed—especially ... moreas decoration in a childs room! Note that the page has some margin damage(smudges and wrinkling) The page size is approx. 5x7.25 inches and the actual image size(without margins) is approx. 3.5x4.9 inches(approx. 9x12.5 cm) The lower right margin has a caption that can be included or covered when framed. This is NOT a recent copy or modern reproduction. But a GENUINE vintage item over 105 years old.
