Wheatley Orvis Fly Box with Window Compartments and Clips for Fishing Rod Flies
Up for grabs is a Wheatley fly box made for Orvis. This is a classic style box with window compartments on one side and clips on the other. When I bought this box. Someone had dented one corner and I was able to straighten it out and now all the spring open windows work as they should(see pictures 4 and 5) Functionally, the box is very good and is a great way to keep your dry flies and nymphs on the stream. The box does show some wear, as you can see from the pictures. Great deal to grab a classic fly box inexpensively. See my other items listed. Orvis Battenkill Impregnated Bamboo Spinning Rod, 4 7/8 oz. 6 1/2' long 2 piece
This is a very high quality Battenkill impregnated bamboo 4 7/8 oz. light weight Spinning Rod Serial Number 23523 manufactured by Orvis in Manchester. VT in the late 50's. Rod shows almost no wear at all and was used only in Michigan Trout Streams. Only demerit that can be seen is the number 4 7/8 applied by a red ball point pen on the handle, but is barely seen on other sides of genuine cork handle. Eyes and tip are tightly wound and look to have never been replaced or repaired. Aluminum case with Orvis label attached and cap screws into case, also original canvas sock is included. A great piece of quality American tackle that will feel right at home in the stream or on a collector of quality tackle wall. Aluminum case does show some scratches from travel and storage but no bends or dents.

This spool is loaded with 20 lb test white Dacron backing and Orvis 5 WT Intermediate 20’ sink tip fly line finished with a 9’ 4X tapered leader. It also comes with both the original Orvis cloth carrying case with drawstring closure and a padded Orvis fly reel case. Having a spare spool is a must as you can change them out in a matter of minutes versus having to re-spool new backing. I have here an Orvis Impregnated bamboo fly rod. It is marked"Orvis Impregnated" Equinox" 7" 4 wt. It is in great condition and appears to have been refinished. All the windings. Which are burgundy, are in beautiful condition as is the finish. The cork and reel seat show very little signs of any use. There appears to be a repair(visible in photos) between the first and second eye above the ferrule on the tip section. I have cast and fished the rod a few times and it doesn't seem to affect the action or strength of the rod at all. The ferrules are tight and pop when separated. The tube and sleeve do not appear to be original. There are some"use" dings in the tube but they do not cause any concern. The sleeve is very soft and in good condition. Excellent Vintage Orvis Battenkill 5/6 Fly Reel & Fly Line Made in England
An Excellent Pre-owned Orvis Battenkill 5/6 Fly Reel and Fly Line With Original Case and Manual Here's a very nice vintage Orvis Battenkill reel that is in excellent condition. While the reel has been well maintained. It does show some very slight wear around the rim of the reel that resulted from normal use. It is very slight and not noticeable and does not detract from its appearance nor affect its function. The reel is loaded with an Orvis 5 weight. Floating line that is in very good condition and is all ready to go. It comes with the original Instruction Manual and Orvis case that measures about 4" in diameter and 2 3/4" in depth.
