There are some minor scratches in the chrome from normal use. I also see a little pitting in the handle which I tried to capture in the photos. Please take note the reel works very good but it is RIGHT HANDED CRANKING ONLY. You can not thread the handle on the left side of the reel, so it is set up only for right handed cranking only. The spool is in good solid shape but has the initials"JR" in the front you can see this in the photo. Some normal paint rubs and scratches to the body, foot, stem, plate and roto r but they are all in good solid shape and it has both its emblems and its bail is in good shape. Some wear but a good solid piece in all. The super-sized and zoom-able photos show the reel quite well. This 850SS is in very good working shape and ready to fish but as mentioned is RIGHT HANDED CRANKING ... moreONLY. It cranks quite well with a nice revolving rotor. And has a nice anti-reverse and well meshing gears. All levers works well in all modes with smooth silent forward-revers e mode. Smooth forward and beautiful click on forward anti-reverse. Rotor spins nice with a smooth undulating spool. Bail flips reliably on first crank like a giant mouse trap and it has a solid variable smooth drag and nice line out alarm. Wear as mentioned and it is RIGHT HANDED CRANKING but a solid and very good working reel ready to fish. Plated spool. Condition is very good, shows light use with some pitting on base plate and cross bars, but not bad. All functions work as they should and very smoothly.
