I have two 6 ft. long fishing rods. With reels, and both are working. I bought these at an auction, and they are for deep sea or deep water fishing for large fish for sure. I have never used them, I do pan fishing only, and we just don't have a lot of places here in Arizona where we can go deep sea or water fishing, at least not that I'm aware of anyway. Both rods are in very good condition, same as the reels, and I will describe what I see. The first one has a reel that reads; MADE IN U.S.A. PENN PEER NO. 209. The rod reads; ST. This is an auction for an older Penn Long Beach 259 Live Bait Caster saltwater fishing reel.Good condition. Rare reel with minor wear on the cross posts and reel seat. Clean throughout. No chips or cracks on side plates. Worn clicker. Turns free and easy. Solid black side plates. At first glance. The reel looks like a Penn Senator 3/0. It is not. Rare reel that is great as a collectible, but has one defect: the previous owner etched his name in the chrome ring, which will detract from the value. Very rare advertising tin produced as a fundraiser for the Pennsylvania Council of Republican Women. Measures 5 1/2" High. 4" diameter. Excellent vintage condition- no dents. Lid fits tightly(but can be taken off with ease) seams are all sound, some very small scratches on edge of lid and body of the can, 1 small area of rust on edge of lid, small discoloration/foxing spots on top of lid.
