On the bottom of the reel foot the original owner has engraved his name and city and state. The number on the bottom of the reel foot is 30-66. This reel is ready to catch fish. Pictures show well. This auction features a very nice USA made Penn Peer No. 109 baitcasting reel. It is in fantastic condition with all parts working smoothly and ready to take to your favorite fishing hole. It can be a left or right hand model as the handle can be moved from side to side. It is currently set up as a right hand reel. It has an excellent drag system and is a level wind reel so tangles should not be a problem. It is sized to fit a medium weight bass rod up to a light medium salmon rod. PENN DOWNRIGGER MODEL 600 WITH ROD HOLDER SHOP CLEANED AND SERVICED While cleaning out the garage last week I found a lot of interesting items that I thought some of you would enjoy or need more than I do at the moment. This listing is for a PENN 600 FATHOM-MASTER DOWNRIGGER with a rod holder attached. The boom is 24 inches long. Penn Fathom-Master downriggers have earned a reputation for solid. Dependable performance in both fresh and salt water. Whether it's getting down for salmon, steelhead and lake trout, lowering the boom on walleye and striped bass, or descending for deep running bluefish, king mackerel or tuna, no angling task is too tough for a Fathom-Master. Penn's exclusive Fathom-Master drag system allows one hand operation when lowering or stopping the downrigger weight. Drag system lets cable play out if the weight snags ... moreon the bottom. Crank handle does not turn while the weight descends. Fathom-Master downriggers come pre-installed with Penn's easy-to-rig Tru-Trac cable hardware- simple to remove and re-install without crimping tools. This downrigger is used but I sent it to my repair shop to have them go thru it and clean it up and lube it so it would be ready to fish. Everything functions as it should. There is a lot of line on the spool. Looks like twice as much as normal. The swivel clip on the end of the wire is new as well. The unit shows normal wear, no problems that I can see. The small piece of white tape that marks the line counter is starting to come off on one end and some discoloration on the red crank handle. The downrigger does not come with a mount however I will list a few mounts separately as well as an assortment of balls and ball holders. This downrigger is ready to fish! Reel shows signs of light use and is so clean it looks as if it was attached to a rod maybe once or twice. Not sure, but line looks to have never touched the water. Clicker works great. This beautiful 712Z reel spins fast and smooth with the very crisp bail. It has just a few very light scratches( see photos) but no significant paint loss.
