So I do not know the exact date of manufacture.But the patent#s on the foot date to the Early 1920s, mostly 1921-1923. The handle turns the spool smoothly and the clicker is strong.I can't tell for sure about how the drag works because there is no line on the reel but when you adjust the drag button? Vintage Spinnerbait Lot Pflueger No. 6 Al Foss Shimmy No. 6 Patented 1918 1919
A couple of cool old spinnerbaits here. The larger one is marked PFLUEGER 6. It is in good condition and is free of rust. The smaller one was made by Al Foss and is a Shimmy No. 6. It has patent date of 1918 and 1919. Foss got his first patent in 1915 and was a champion tournament caster who did not like the large lure manufacturer's big multi-hook contraptions. His lures were very successgul for the next 3 decades. The Pflueger is about 6-1/2" long and the Foss is 4-1/4" long. It has a treble hook fitted onto the single hook. This is a straight line reel. Condition of the outside is fair to good. Does have some dirt.Grime, a little rust. Great vintage fishing reel. Size is about the same size as a regular reel. Vintage' Handle Rod' 5ft Telescopic Copper Rod w/ Pflueger Summit Reel NO 1993L
Thanks for looking at this wonderful estate sale find. Handle Rod from Champion Products CO. Muskegon, Mich. Beryllium copper(this is how others on eBay were listed) casting rod extends to approx 5 ft long. Also included in this set is a vintage Pflueger Summit NO. 1993L reel. MAde in USA. The rod features a cork handle. Looks to be in pretty good condition. Some metal discoloration where reel hooks into rod. There also is a bag included, which looks to be in nice condition. Overall, the rod, reel, and bag are in nice condition. Feel free to ask questions.

Old Pflueger"Pakron No.3178"Saltw.Trolling Reel w.wood.handels+wire on spool
This is one big Saltwater Fishing Reel! It's a Pflueger Pakron No.3178 in used but very nice condition. I don't know when these were made. But judging by the wooden knobs on the handle's, I'd guess the 1960's or so, but it could be older. It's about 6 inches in diameter, and looks like it's made of stainless steel. It has a spool about half-filled with what looks like piano wire, and the whole thing weighs about 3 lb's. unboxed for shipping. Winning bidder pays shipping. I ship worldwide.
