Vintage Pflueger Medalist Fly Reel No. 1496 1/2, "Patented", "Made in USA"
The Medalist No. 1496 1/2 was manufactured in Akron. Ohio from the early 1940s until 1958 when it was replaced by the Medalist No. 1498. This makes it one of the rarer models because most Medalist models have been made for decades. This reel has the rectangular Diamolite Line Guard and appears to have all its original parts right down to the screws. It has the very hard metal drag ratchet plate rather than the hard nylon plate the newer reels have. Although this reel has some normal loss of finish it is in excellent working condition.

Rare 1925 Vintage PFLUEGER SUPREME Casting Reel - Serial No. 15901
Mid-1920s vintage Pflueger Supreme casting reel. Thought to be the second version of the No. 1573 Supreme. This reel features double handles, level winding action, cork arbor, rear plate mounted clicker, face plate mounted brake dial, and sliding face plate mounted grease port. Reel is marked on the face plate Pflueger Supreme- Reg. U.S. Pat. Off. Level Wind- Anti-Back-Lash. The word Oil with an arrow point down to the endcap and the word Grease by the sliding port are also present. The back plate is marked Pat. April 3, 1923- Other Patents Pending and with the serial number 15901. Reel shows some wear from use but overall presents very nicely. Mechanically very good with smooth action, a good clicker and full functioning brake. Offered with a low starting bid and no reserve. Be sure to check out my other auctions for more fishing stuff.

Very rare to find with it still attached. I notice that the anti-backlash adjustment screw is missing. It would screw into the spool arbor recess and provide adjustable pressure to the end of the arbor to prevent backlash. Very good. Clean, working condition W/vintage string. Vintage Pflueger 822 Spinning Reel (Omori Shakespeare 2400) near mint & boxed
Vintage Pflueger 822 This small spin reel was made in Japan. By Omori, and considered an ultra-lite at the time. it was made in the late 70s, it weighs 8.5oz. It will hold 190yds. of 6lb. test. It is in near mint condition and everything works perfectly. There is only a few specks of paint wear from being moved around maybe used a few times. The bail, drag, gears, roller,and anti-reverse all work great, the drag is super smooth. This reel has a 5.2/1 gear ratio and it is a grade 9+/9+. Its a underrated great reel to fish with and a good quality fishing reel, it is the smallest of the 800 series. Comes with box& parts(bail spring,washer,left hand pin& extra spool in fine condition. The reels I sell are 98% used. And in between 20& 100 years old. Most are far from perfect, so I some times use the Orca grading system, the first no. ... moreis how it looks and the second how it works. A 5/5 would be for parts and a 10/10 would be new.
