EARLY PFLUEGER BOXED REEL VINTAGE ANTIQUE
The last of 5 antique reels I have up tonight. Up front I will tell you I'm NOT a reel guy. I know lures well but not so much old reels. This is a Pflueger product and comes in a neat old dark maroon box with a paper insert. I think these are called skeleton reels? The only markings I see are 60 on the foot(yards? Pflueger is known for selling unmarked trade lures in for various companies. This is probably consistent with that history as the box is unmarked too. The insert is neat and fits right in the box bottom. The reel appears to work well. The box has edge wear but is solid condition. See pics for condition, camera flash is present. I have two old wooden lures in used condition. Lures are not perfect but not bad either. I not sure about the lures names but I believe the lures are made by Pflueger Co. and they are called Never Fail Minnow. Not sure. Might be something else. Anyway the lures are old and I selling both for one money. Lures have some paint rubs marksand paint chips so please review my pictures before bidding.Both lures bodies measure 3 1/4 inches long. Up for bid is this vintage Pflueger Trusty Baitcasting Reel Model 1933. It was used on fishing trips to Cree Lake. Canada back in the 1950's for giant Northern Pike. Appears to be in good working order just needs a good cleaning. Comes with the original box which is in really nice shape with the only real problem I see is a split on the bottom edge. As I was typing in this description I was thinking how great this would look in a fishing shadowbox. Also look pretty great pulling in some giant northerns.
