Offered for auction is this Pflueger Supreme 578 DA(dual action- left or right hand retrieve) in as close to new condition you will find these days. This one is stamped"Patt. Appl For" making it one of the first manufactured in 1968. The year this model was introduced. Please see Condition Description above. The reel is partially filled with D acron backing. Probably more than needed. This reel is the same height dimension as a Pflueger Medalist 1498, making it suitable for salmon, steelhead and other large freshwater and salt water fish species. It comes with its original like-new plastic zippered case and the original grease and oil containers. The grease tube is nearly full, and the oil container is about 1/2 of the original volume. Looks like it is already filled with some sort of coated fishing line. There is also a piece of tape on the reel.

For auction a pflueger sal-trout 1558 in superb mechanical and cosmetic condition. Originally produced in the 1930s. Similar in design to the heddon winona. Construction seems aluminum to my eye. Reel works smooth as silk and the clicker function is tight with loud bold sound. Silent mode produces no squeeks upon retrieve. Definitely lightly used. I didnt clean or oil, found as is. Foot has no visible wear, almost as if it was never put on a rod. I'm guessing this was used on flats for speckled trout, redfish, snook, tarpon and the like. VINTAGE pre WW II PLUEGER SUPEREX AUTOMATIC FLY REELS(2) Reg. U.S. Patent Office Pat’d. Nov.19’07. Printed on Reels pre-mid-1930s slotted screws Made in U.S.A. model"775" You are bidding on a PAIR OF Pflueger Superex automatic reels. I’m assuming these Pflueger’s are model 775 based on comparing pictures on eBay. But there is no model number stamped on these and the recoil lever is configured slightly differently than those marked“Model 775” see pictures below) The outside diameter of these two Pflueger’s are 9 centimeters, and the height between the top and bottom plate available for the throw line is 17mm. Both reels use a simple coiled spring and a 2-sprocket gear system to wind in the line when a lever is pushed. The user can add or decrease spring tension at any time to help wind the line up or relieve extra tension. That generally ... moreisn’t required, though, once the reel is loaded unless you are using a very small diameter line. Both reels were made in the USA of all metal parts and are remarkably sturdy. Both wind the line back in smoothly and quickly. And both can be disassembled to almost individual components. weighs 8 and 3/4 ounces empty, but only holds 24 feet of 2.2mm Zing-it(or ~30 feet 1.75mm line, or ~38 feet of 1.4mm Fling-It) The bobbin of the Pflueger has a notch in it to attach the line, but it is too small to accommodate throw line. 3 Vintage Pike Musky lures handmade (?) plug Pflueger Mustang & 9" perch darter
Up for auction are a recent estate find. There are 3 lures of a size that would make me believe that they are for pike or musky fishing. Although they would also catch largemouth bass First is a handmade torpedo lure with a front spinner that is weighted( see pictures) about 6" long and green to a yellowish belly with silver spots. Next is a 9" long surface swimmer or darter that may be handmade( I see no identification on the lure) It is nicely painted like a perch with carved mouth painted eyes. Flat bottom and metal tail fins. Very nice condition, I would call it excellent used condition. Last is a 6" long Pflueger Mustang with a couple of small paint chips( hook pointers) Lure is in black with a yellowish belly and red throat.
