Vintage and rare Pflueger model 1492 right hand retrieve reel is in excellent condition. Reel matched nicely with a light 4 weight rod and double taper 4 line. This is not a commonly sold reel and the exact date of manufacture of this model is hard to pin down. I have done quite a bit of research. As you should do, about this model and others and the condition to expect them in. Excellent shelf piece or to match with a bamboo rod. Up for auction is a complete Vintage Marlboro fly and spinning reel combo that has not been used. Everything is still in plastic and unopenned. The spinning reel still has the rubber band around the line in the spool. The fly reel hasn't been moved. I removed the 5 piece 7 ft. rod from the case to make sure it was all there. The outside of the case has picked up some small dirty spots or stains. Nothing big, but something to factor in. If you need more photos, give me a shout. The Pflueger Monarch Low Profile Reel is a four-bearing. Baitcast reel. As I play with this reel as I describe it, it feels like a 5 or 6 ball bearing reel. Like most Pfluegers, they just seem to make them a little smoother than most. These reels feature three ball bearings, a one-way clutch instant anti-reverse bearing, machined and anodized aluminum spool, reinforced graphite frame and more. Gear ratio is 6.2:1. Offered for sale is an old antique Pflueger Medalist 1494 1/2 DA fly reel that was made in the USA. I think this reel dates back into the 1970's BEAUTIFUL CONDITION- The reel is complete with fly line. There was no line sticker on the reel but I think the fly line is a weight forward floating line- a guess is a 5 or 6 weight. Very limited use-the reel looks GREAT with very little paint loss anywhere- a couple paint nicks around the very edge. Set up for right handed retrieve. What we have here is quite an amazing set! First of all. The advertisement is a real page taken from an April 1932 Outdoor Life magazine which shows 7 Pflueger fishing lures and the Supreme reel from that era. It has been custom matted and framed with a vintage-looking frame. I painstakingly sought and found each one of the lures on the ad myself over several years. The Muskill. The Luminous Tandem, the Pippin Flyrod, and the Pippin Wobbler are all like-new and come on their original cards(Muskill and Luminous Tandem) or box(Pippin Wobbler) or glass vial(Fly Rod Wobbler- extremely rare! The bucktail on the Luminous Tandem is a bit worn and some paint has chipped off the underside. The Live Wire has both glass eyes intact and the plastic fin on the back and is in very good overall condition with just a few minor marks. This is an Abbey Imbrie fly reel. The reel has a 2 5/8 inch diameter. The reel looks very similar to an early Pflueger Progress fly reel and may have been made for Abbey Imbrie by Pflueger? The side opposite the handle is clearly stamped Abbey Imbrie USA. Mechanically the handle turns freely and the clicker is strong. Here is a old pflueger fly rod fishing lure on the original card. The tiny fishing lure is only about 1 3/4" long and still has the paint on the front loop where you tie the line and origina staples on the card. The paper card does have a tear but lure is mint. The old metal lure is neat with a stamped on metal fish head that is Red in color. Has etched fins and tiny Yellow andBlack raised eyes. The paper is marked NO. 6673. I would guess it would be hard to find one of these fly rod baits in this unfished condition and in the rainbow color. Pretty sure this is a rare fishing lure and the condition is sweet also. Listing some old wood crankbaits also in Rainbow color including some small trout size lures and old metal lures as time permits.
