Pflueger Kormish Fly Frog: A great early bait with a most interesting issue. Usually a leg or few are missing or body is scuffed/bubbled/melty. This has a variation that I didn't expect when I saw this in the lot it came out of. A PERFECT BLOW OUT. I was wondering if one were to heat it slightly(low temp baking) if it wouldn't be possible to push the blow out back into place. As I said. Those were just thoughts. Doesn't appear any chunks are missing and again, this bait has all it's legs and even some good paint.

The lure has the red faceted glass eyes and 5" body of the first year ever made(1935) The dorsal fin is undamaged. It shows well from the right side only. Unfortunately. This is an old Pflueger trolling spinner still on the original card. Spinner blade is stamped"4" and"PFLUEGER" Silver with stamped fish scale pattern on one side. White with glitter on the reverse. Has glass beads and the blade threaded on a wire leader. Original feathers on the treble hook are pretty much gone. Printing on the card indicates"No. 191 Nickel and Luminous. This lure belonged to my great-grandfather who would have brought from Iowa when he moved to California in 1924.

Vintage early undated 6 patent Pflueger Akron open face fishing reel NICE!
This is an American made Pflueger Akron open face fishing reel in very good shape. This is an early model reel(circa mid-1930s I believe. But please do your research as well) with old style white knobs, 6 patent numbers, and no model number. The Reel is in very good condition, with some light scratches and wear(no rust) but with full functionality. Crank knob is tight, and both the level wind and click work fine. I would grade this reel as A8 or better and M9, although please remember that such grading is rather subjective. There is still line on the reel which I will leave on. Ready for your collection!

Vintage Pflueger Medalist 1495 DA - FOR PARTS - mid 1960s to mid 1970s.
As I said in the condition description above. THIS REEL DOES NOT WORK AND CANNOT BE MADE TO WORK. It is being sold as is. The spring and pin assembly in the spool that engages the front of the drag plate is missing. So you can't even get a working spare spool out of this. The spring-loaded pawl in the reel body that engages the back of the drag plate is corroded in place. Maybe you could get it out. But I can’t. This reel apparently spent a lot of time in salt water. THE DRAG PLATE IS FROM AN EARLIER 1495 AND IS NOT REVERSIBLE- IT IS FOR A RIGHT HAND RETRIEVE ONLY. On a working reel. It will work just fine. I know this because I bought this reel for the reversible drag plate which is now installed on the aforementioned working 1495 reel. I'm now just trying to get rid of what's left. Here’s what works: The cover plate(the white ... moreplastic bit that says Medalist on it) Spring, and cam that hold the reel to the shaft work fine. You can see the back of it in the last picture. The non-reversible right hand retrieve drag plate/ratchet works as I mentioned earlier. The braking mechanism works fine. But since it’s pinned in place, how you’d get it out let alone re-install it on another reel I have no idea. The spring can be removed and it works fine, along with the screw and the sided shim that holds the spring in place- that’s about it All the screws appear to be original and I have checked each one by rotating it a half turn so none of them are rusted in place. The line guard is intact. Though one of the shafts is a bit rusty. And of course. If all you want is a non-working display model for your collection, this rode-hard-and-put-up-wet old veteran has a lot of character and should do the job nicely.
