Antique 4 Brothers SUMCO (Pflueger) #2257 Brass Ocean Fishing Reel
Offered Here Is An Old 4 Brothers Sumco Free Spool Salt Water Fishing Reel From The Early 1900's. Everything works. 4 Brothers was made by Pflueger. I believe this is a 200 yard reel but it could be 250. The side plates are about 3.25" in Diameter and the spool is 2" wide. This is an all metal reel. This would improve greatly by a good cleaning and polishing but I will leave that to the new owner. Features include a free spool lever. A strong clicker and a wooden knob on the handle. Clean, oil and shine it in an afternoon and you will have a nice looking reel and you will have the feeling of accomplishment. S&H in USA is $11.00. Please note that these rods are sold AS IS. All 7 of these rods are in excellent condition. But have been shipped and handled multiple times. There are a few small scratch here and there. I tested all of the reel seats and all are working. Also, I ship these rods in 4" PVC pipe in order to minimize the risk of damage. Vintage Used Early Pflueger Medalist No. 1496 "PATENT PENDING" Stamped
Vintage well used very early and hard to find Pflueger Medalist Model No. 1496(circa 1930's) Pflueger was given a patent for the Medalist line in September of 1930. This model was originally featured in the Pflueger catalog of 1931. It featured a click-pawl drag that was non-adjustable. An adjustable drag was not fitted to the Medalist line until 1938. The"PATENT PENDING" stamp was changed in 1939 to"PATENTED" and was stamped on the frame just above the reel foot and to the right of the reel's model number. It is right hand retrieve as the more popular left hand retrieve did not catch on until after the Second World War. These early reels also featured beautiful sculpted cross pillars. Riveted to the body and a"bird cage" arbor spool comprised of the same sculpted pillars. 4 vintage PFLUEGER PALOMINE LURES all glass eye pre-WWII lure
Description ALL OF MY AUCTIONS START AT $5 WITH NO RESERVE! CHECK OUT MY OTHER AUCTIONS. These are old warriors showing their age in various ways. Frog Scale looks great on passenger side with nice glass eye. Small top and large drivers side worm burn to paint and drivers side glass eye has a hairline crack. Rainbow is nicest of bunch with nice crackless glass eyes and paint is original and 99% intact. Mainly just need cleaning(dirty) and shows several small toothmarks. The brown scale lure with no stripes has nice eyes and at least 98% of paint, but shows lots of scratches and bite marks and tackle box wear. Final lure is green back scale pattern with stripes. It has decent eyes, but bill has been rebent and chunk out of tail and two big dents. US buyer pays $4.00 for postage with tracking number and insurance included.
