Sage Z-Axis 490-2pc 9' 4 weight fly fishing rod no tip top
Great Sage Z-Axis 490(9 foot fly rod for 4 wt. line) 2 piece that has the very tip broken off. The rod was given to me a few years ago. I believe it was a demo rod from a shop in Montana, therefore it has no warranty. i think Sage will repair these rods without warranty for $100 or so. A guy(or gal) could epoxy on a new tip-top guide and the rod would probably cast just fine. I haven't got much use for the rod these days and could use a few bucks to help fund the next fishing trip. Great chance to own a $600 rod for a fraction of the cost. Thanks for looking and happy bidding!

If you are reading this, you already know how good Lightlines are, and so there is no need for a gushy sales pitch. The rod was built to minimize weight in a rod that is still practical to fish. We have taken great care to photograph and describe this auction item accurately and honestly. In this auction you are bidding on a used: SAGE FLi SERIES 590-4 FLY ROD(9'0" 4-pc 5-weight) with Sage Rod Tube included. Well cared for by its previous owner and seemingly seldom fished. This lightly used Sage FLi 590-4 Fly Rod shows only ... morenominal signs of cosmetic wear or tear in the expected high traffic areas. As the photos show. The cork grip displays a slight bit of staining from previous handling, but no major chips, gouges, or missing fill was found. Still bright and shiny like it once was new, the up-locking anodized aluminum and wood reel seat still looks handsome and functions perfectly too. A close inspection of the rod's glossy burnt-orange blank from tip to butt reveals the expected small usage marks in the typical high traffic areas. But no signs of catastrophic abuse like deep scratches, scores, or penetrating nicks were found that would in any way suggest the rod's original strength or integrity as compromised. Save for some faint scuffing to the epoxy wraps(see pic! A close review of the rod's guides shows no trace of tarnish, rust or oxidization present, with no grooving, deformation, or misalignment found. A quick test-assembly and deep flexing confirms all ferrules to still fit snugly. With no wobble, twisting, looseness or other obvious distress recognized, and the divided rod tube that accompanies is, much like the fly rod inside, in excellent lightly-used condition too. A light

This auction is for an absolutely gorgeous fly fishing rod and reel combination. A Sage 8'6" 2-piece Graphite III GFL 586 RPLB equipped with a famed pre-1998 Ross Gunnison G-1 reel. Also included in the auction is a fabric covered tube carrying case. It has been at least 40 years since I used a fly rod and have never had the privledge of using one of this quality, so most of the information I am providing came from reading right off the equipment or from on-line research. The rod and reel probably date ... morefrom the 1980s and represent about the best quality that could be had at the time- and would be hard to better even now. The RPLB designation indicates that this was a Sage blank that was custom wrapped. It appears to me that the wrapping was done beautifully. There are virtually no signs of use or wear on this equipment.
