It's hard to let an old friend go. But life goes on. I built this powerful Sage 3 piece Spey rod from a blank I bought in 1970 from Anglers Workshop in Woodland, Washington. Very few fly fishermen were using two-handed rods back then. It's different now, isn't it? I could reach places other guys only stared at, and boy! did I catch fish! I'm a perfectionist when it comes to building things, and this is a good example. The guides are straight and true with several coats of epoxy on the brown and gold windings. The cork and reel seat are in great shape, and there are very few dings on the entire rod. And it hasn't lost any of its power! These are some of the coolest rod combos sage ever made. Perfect ultra light set-up for small brookies. Hate to sell this set up but need to cover a 25 year wedding aniversary trip coming up.
