When opening to make that cast its flawless. When you spin the handle the bail does not close all the way. If you use your hand to close the bail it works perfectly. The only issue is when spining the handle. Cosmetically the reel has some scratches and some Saltwater rash as you can see in the pictures. All this reel needs is a little TLC. Shimano Sustain 4000FD Spinning Reel WORKS GREAT BUT HAS INCORRECT STRADIC SPOOL
This is a Shimano Sustain 4000FD Spinning Reel. The reel works great but unfortunately I don't have the correct 4000FD spool for this reel. The spool that it comes with is a Shimano Stradic 4000 spool which will get the job done but if you want the maximum drag and performance of this reel you will need to put a Sustain 4000FD spool on the reel. This is a good thing for people who already have purchased the 4000FD Sustain because they usually come with 2 spools. I'm sure that it would work great with other sustain 4000 spools also but the closest one that I had was this 4000 Stradic spool which fits but there isn't a whole lot of drag resistance. As far as condition goes. Mechanically it functions like a new reel and cosmetically it looks good. There are some scratches on the reel's body but they're minor and there is ... moresome wear on the gold trim pieces which are removable/replaceable. The handle looks brand new but the rubber cover on bottom(removable/replaceable) is pretty worn. I took pictures from every angle so you can see everything clearly.
