This is a 2010 pair of size 9 Simms G4 Guide Boots for wearing over stocking foot waders. They were Simms' top end wading boot at the time. They have been lightly used by me. They are made with abrasion resistant mesh panels. They have a Vibram stream traction lug sole. Lace fastening. The MSRP was $219. Only reason I'm getting rid of this is b/c I've developed a pretty minimalist approach to fly fishing and b/c of that I started favoring the smaller Fishpond Double Haul Chestpack/Backpack. Original BRASS SIMMS SU4S Car Truck Tractor Magneto Mag Hit Miss Engine HOT!
This is a real nice original Simms SU4S brass four cylinder magneto for an early car. Truck, tractor, or motorcycle. It is in excellent condition with no cracks, breaks, or repairs of any kind except for the distributor cap which has some issues but does work. It is missing the porcelain bulb on the inside of the magnets that holds the spark tube but still works fine the way it is. It is a base mount magneto and mounts on a 2 inch square bolt pattern. The mounting threads are in perfect condition. This magneto is clockwise rotation and turns over nicely with excellent magnetic pull. There is no noticeable wear in the bearings. The housing and base are both in excellent condition! The points housing and advance/retard is brass and would polish up very nicely. This magneto puts out a hot, FAT, blue spark that is sure to run your engine if it ... moreis set up properly. The chain sprocket on it has 14 teeth and I suspect this originally came off of an early motorcycle. This sprocket can easily be changed. Other than the distributor cap and a few smaller parts it's ready to go to work on a tractor, car, truck, motorcycle, or on the shelf for a spare. These magnetos are extremely tough to find in the wild or even at swap meets and usually require several hundred dollars worth of repair work! Not this one. The pictures tell the story. ABOUT ARCADE/EXHIBIT CARDS: From the early 1900's to the 1960's these cards were sold for a penny each in arcade machines. These cards were almost always black and white or some type of single color toned cards. They issued cards on a variety of subjects. But the most sought after cards feature movie stars, cowboys and boxers. The method of distribution of Arcade/Exhibit cards was unique in the first half of the 20th century. Until the period after World War 2. Americans did not have the incredible variety of home-delivered amusements that ... morewe find common today. Only radio provided home entertainment beginning in the 1920's. When people wanted something to do, people left their homes for movie theaters, boardwalks, and arcades. Every town had annual fairs or carnivals that had arcade tents. ESCO manufactured amusement machines for those places: fortune telling machines, prize machines, scales, pin-balls, etc. It's most historic development was the card dispensing machine. Exhibit cards were the first nationally distributed trading card product sold without any ancillary uses or purposes. The cards were not for advertising nor were they product premiums. They themselves were the product.A carnival or arcade owner purchased an ESCO vending machine and ESCO sold them refill products for the machines. ESCO made its real money on the refill orders. Not on the machines. The cards were dispensed for a penny(later, a nickel or dime) to the patron of the arcade. ESCO sold refill cards direct to vendors. There was no permanent place where you could get these cards in most cities. Usually buyers had to wait for a carnival or fair to hit town to have access to the cards. Really the only flaws in the jacket are 2 small puncture holes(from a misplaced cast here and there) which have been professionally repaired(and tested) by Simms. Used Simms Felt soled Wading Boots size 8 fly fishing footwear
These are a pair of 8 year old felt soled Simms wading boots in size 8. My shoe size is size 8 and I used these boots for wet wading. For waders. These boots would work for size 6-7ish feet. The boots are in good shape and the sown felt soles still have lots of life left. There are three things to point out: the inner ankle of the right boot has a scuffed area(photo4) the right boot tongue pull is partially severed(photo3) and the nylon boot string ends have been singed so as not to fray(last photo) A bit of silicon glue smeared on the scuff should work, and a bootsmith should be able to cheaply repair the pull. There is no"Buy It Now" option, and I only ship within the US.
