This is a very nice character doll from 1953. She was a personality from the Arthur Godfrey show which was very popular in the 50's. She walks nicely and has long dark hair the needs to be styled. I used photo enhancement to darken the pic in a area on the back of the photo because the date stamps wouldn't scan well. The photo shows some crushing on the lower left corner. Framed Vtg Print, African-American Cartoonist E Simms Campbell, Scottish Terrier
For your consideration: a framed print of a Scottie cartoon by E. Simms Campbell(1906-1971) Who was a commercial artist and the first African-American syndicated cartoonist. Mr. Campbell was a significant contributor of illustration art to Esquire magazine from 1933-1958. His works were also published in The New Yorker. Ebony, Cosmopolitan, Playboy and other periodicals. Mr. Campbell was inducted posthumously into the Society of Illustrators' Hall of Fame in 2002, joining such notables as Al Hirschfield, Maurice Sendak and Erte. This print depicts a Scottie looking at the clock on the table which reads 9:15 with the caption. I'll give them'til nine-thirty- if they aren't here then, I break training! I have not been able to find any information about this cartoon. So I cannot tell you where it was published or when. The printed ... moreartist's signature appears in the lower left corner of the image above the caption(photo 2) Measurements: The Frame is 8 1/2" x 12 1/2" The Image is 6 1/2" x 9 3/8" Condition: Overall good vintage condition. I have not taken the print out of the frame to examine it; so all my observations are through the glass. Obviously. Damage was sustained before framing. There is some damage to the Scottie near his tail(photo 3) I don't believe it is a rip or hole. It looks more like the top layer of the paper was damaged exposing the next lighter color layers. There is some crinkling of the paper which I think is a repaired rip on the left hand side(photo 4) Perhaps the page was ripped from a periodical? Impossible for me to tell without removing it from the frame. There are fine horizontal creases running the width of the print about 2" from the bottom border(across the image's rug and through the Scottie's rear legs and tail) These are only visible when tilting the print into the light and are too fine to be photographed. I am selling a very lightly used Simms Headwater waist/sling/lumbar pack. I used this pack for one fishing trip before I decided I would stick to using a vest. This pack is in great condition and you would be hard pressed to tell it from new. This pack holds a surprisingly large amount of gear and has numerous interior and exterior pockets to stow all sorts of goodies. The photo shows the pack with 6 fly boxes in the main pocket and there is still LOTS of room. The pack has a well padded shoulder strap. Wide waist strap and the pack itself is also well padded and ventilated so it rides comfortably on your back, even for extended periods.

Big Beautiful 20" HP Walker-LuAnn Simms-Roberta/Valentine?
Here is a darling unmarked head-turning walker that closely resembles the popular LuAnn Simms doll of the early 1950s. LuAnn was a singer on the Arthur Godfrey radio show. This doll stands about 20" tall and may be wearing an original dress of nylon dotted swiss with matching taffeta underthings. She has a cute little black choker with a cameo. Knee high nylons and patent type shoes. Her dark brunette wig is quite long, just needs washing and a little styling. She looks good. With some cheek blush and pretty, clear blue eyes. Lip and tongue color are good, and she has four teeth. Eyelashes are all there. I haven't cleaned her up, but I see only a tiny spot on her cheek.
