Cargem Marvel No. 17 Lite Spinning Reel. 1st Version I'm selling my Cargem Italian reel collection. Here is a Cargem Marvel 17 lite size spinning reel. About the size of a Mitchell 304. Based on Ben Wright's outstanding Spinning Reel Reference, I believe this is a first version with the older type paddle shaped handle knob and lever switch. The reel shows very little finish wear with bright, shiny chrome plated parts and all mechanical functions work well. The only flaws are a buggered up rear body screw, and the top body screw is a non-original replacement- please see last photo. The bottom screw also has some slot wear. Vintage Garcia Mitchell Model 407 Fishing Spinning Reel France Works Good
Here's a nice Garcia Mitchell Model 407 Spinning Reel. Made in France. The reel is in good condition and works, the bail releases properly but the cup that holds the bail is a little loose. My husband did a cursory cleaning and oiling on this but isn't sure how to tighten the part so I'm selling it as is. Cosmetically the reel is pretty good, it needs a thorough cleaning and there are some light scuffs in several areas with missing paint but no damage or dents. The reel has a US Patent 2 726 052 which might help date it, I'll see if I can find more info. I'm listing several vintage reels so be sure to check my other listings. Vintage antique Pflueger trade mark Taxie made in USA fishing reel. This is in good shape. Has a very small bend on one edge but is hard to notice. It measures 5” wide by 1.5” deep. In order to keep its antique look and value I did not and will not clean this and the original copper wire line will not be removed. What you see is what you get!
