Here's a very nice Garcia MITCHELL 300 Spinning reel. In good condition. A few minor scuffs and it could use a more thorough cleaning but it's complete and works good. Nice smooth running reel. My husband says there should be a gear or lock that stops the movement of the handle, isn't working as it should so the handle turns both ways. I'm not sure of the correct terminology and I don't know that it affects the working of the reel. This is a good display reel and is ready to go catch a fish, it does have line on it that appears to be a light green. I'm not a collector of fishing gear but I grew up on the shores of Lake Michigan in Kenosha Wisc. and have been fishin since I was knee-high to a grasshopper. So. I know a good reel when I handle one. According to my research on this guy, serial number 7078503 this is a 1966 Version 6 Garcia Mitchell 300. As you can see it's been used and has some loss of paint in areas. The gears are smooth and the drag works perfect. I'm sure after sitting for as many years as it has, it could use a good internal cleaning and lube. Everything you see comes in the sale. Vintage Daiwa SKA 1055 Spinning Reel to Fix or for Parts
Vintage Daiwa SKA1055 spinning reel for parts or to fix. Reel cranks smoothly but the anti reverse does not work. Anti reverse button moves but does not engage or go into a/r mode. Reel has scuffs and scratches and there is dust in some of the crevices. It came from a recent estate sale and is being sold as found. With a 2 1/8" long foot(later version has a larger 2 1/2" foot) circa 1953, according to Ben Wright's outstanding Spinning Reel Reference& Value Guide. The reel shows moderate finish wear- I've included photos from all angles. All mechanical functions work, although the reel could use some fresh lube and the click is very light. The oil port screw on the handle stem is missing- see last photo. Also, the handle is a little bent and intermittently touches the bail wire when the reel is cranked.
