Here for your consideration is a vintage handcrafte d 73" three- section Tosaka split bamboo spinning rod in the original silk case and hinged wooden storage/travel box! This came from Nippon Fishing Tackle in Ja pan through the U.S. Army PX in Naha. Okinawa and was brought home stateside back in 195 4. Quite the pri ze for a returning soldier! T his model appears to have nickel or nickel plated hardware/ fer ules and gold plated or gold filled guides. As neither are magnetic. The tip guide ring ap pears to be carved onyx or jade! T he colorful thread wrapping is incredible, very detailed and shows no damage! The original heavy dark blue silk case is in very nice condition with no damage and has a cord for tying c losed. T he wooden storage and travel box has three brass hinges. Two brass latches and measures 34-5/8" long x 2-1/2" ... moredeep x 2-1/4" high and is well designed with a built-in compartment for lures. Weights. Hooks, etc. Note there is one g uide rin g missing as shown in the last image. It shouldn't be a problem to repair.
