I cleaned it up some but still needs a good cleaning, especially the grips/butt. There are no ruts in the grips, just dirty(pictures may look like there are ruts in grips/handles, but this is not the case. All guides are tight. Top guide is missing round metal guide part. H-I Mohawk, Cascade No. 1428, 7 1/2' Fly/Spinning Fishing Rod, USA, Repaired
This is a vintage H-I(Horrock-Ibbotson) Mohawk, Cascade, No. 1428, 7 1/2' two piece fly or spinning rod. The rod is stamped Mohawk, H-I, Cascade, No. 1428, 7 1/2 Ft. Horrock-Ibbotson, Made in USA the stamping is in fair to good condition with some lettering and decal loss. My rod m easurement is approx. 7' 1" long and is a two piece rod. So the rod must have been broken because 5" are missing and my guess is that it was broken in front go first eyelet(see photo 7& 8) looks like metal fitting rod was refitted and glued in rod where the break may have taken place. This rod has 6 eyelets wrapped in yellow and red string and all the eyelets look to be in good condition(See Photo 6) with the exception of the first larger eyelet which has a bend in it but is still useable(see photo 5) The rod is in good condition and shows ... moresome smudges and scratches and like I stated earlier that rod has been broken and repaired and the cork rod handle is in good condition and shows some wear on the ends.
