But there are times when something a little more subtle ... moreis required. Sometimes you just have to put the bait in the fish’s way and let it wiggle. Drop-shotting puts the bait up off the bottom, where the fish can see it and keeps it there. They just can’t stand to have it hang there, vibrating enticingly right in front of their nose. The rods we use for this technique are special in their own right. The actions are extra-fast, but the tips are light so the angler can impart a subtle wiggle to the bait without a lot of wasted motion, but many times you just let it sit there and get good results. It doesn’t take a hard hook-set to get the fish, but rather a quick“lift” of the rod. We design the tip extra soft so that the fish can mouth the bait without a lot of resistance from the rod, but the magnum taper allows the rod to load up so quickly that once you lift it, the fish is hooked and 95 times out of 100 it will be hooked dead center in the upper lip. We make two different power ratings… one for light line and open water situations, which includes a GLX version, and one that’s slightly stiffer for deep-water and brushy situations where you need a little more power to get the fish to the boat. For those anglers that prefer casting rods, we make two“fiber blend" models. All Drop Shot rods come with a foam strap- with our Skeleton Fish logo on it- to hold the rig in place on the rear grip for storage. Today I am parting with my Airex/Uslan"110" This rod is as straight as it was when new. No"set" in this rod whatsoever. It's 71" long, which is correct and both sections are the same length. All of the wraps are perfect, no loose ends or fraying. The ferrules are perfect and"pop" when you pull the rod apart. Even though in one photo the rod looks to have a bend I can assure you its straight. The reel rings are clean and undamaged. The only thing I see out of the ordinary is there is a mark in the cork where the reel was mounted. There is no damage or pieces of cork missing. It's just a nice rod. This rod was used in a photo shoot for my Airex book. Shipping will be a bit higher than normal due to the length and weight of the tube I will be using to ship it. Here for your consideration is a LIKE NEW. MINT CONDITION classic G. Loomis GL3 model 783-2, two-piece medium spinning rod. It is in absolutely perfect shape except for some very minor impressions in the cork handle(see pictures#6& 8 from top) from a reel having been installed. This will occur whenever a reel is installed anyway! This superb spinning rod is 6 1/2 feet long and is rated for lures from 1/8- 3/8 oz and lines from 4- 10 lb. The blank is the classic matte black with gloss black wraps and silver logo. This is the perfect big trout rod and has the power to bring in most any trout that swims. It is also a great walleye rod or light finesse rod for drop shotting worms for bass, or any number of other applications. For sale is a very nice vintage Browning Silaflex spinning rod. Model 132906, also the serial number on the handle is: 531885. I have had this rod for a long time and broke the tip off and when the new one was put on, the rod lost about an inch in length. The current length is approx. 64 1/2" and the original was 65 1/2" Also, the third eyelet was snagged by my son and some of the wrappings are missing, please see photos, still works fine.
