For auction is a miniature replica of a spinning wheel. With"Strawbridge& Clothier, Linens" advertising. It is made of wood and measures 5" tall. I am not an expert on the design of a spinning wheel, but from what I can tell, it is not missing any parts and it is in very good condition(but please look closely at the photos to make your own assessment) The wheel spins and the piece of wood with the printed advertising moves up and down. The 2 flat wooden supports that connect the 3 legs are connected to each other by tape, but I believe that is by design, so that the wheel can spin freely and the printed advertising piece can move up and down. On the platform under the wheel, you will see a few tan spots- 3 of those spots are actually where the 3 legs are connected to the platform. But some of the spots look like something ... morewas splattered onto the platform(and on the wheel also) I believe this is an extremely rare advertising piece for Strawbridge& Clothier. For Buy it Now is a Bache Brown Spinster spinning reel. Made in the U.S.A. by the Lionel corporation, Airex division. This reel looks good, with some minor age related surface tarnish, but it is very clean and could polish up better. Unlike many of these the foot of this reel is complete and unbroken, also the thick black plastic housing is in fine shape and has no cracks. This reel feels well lubricated, and the unique half bail opens and flips back crisply. The anti reverse works properly and has a nice clear clicking sound, and the drag seems to work fine. This reel should be ready to use, but I would replace the old line, with your own. This is a nice vintage collectable reel. Sold with PayPal only.
