Penn 704 Reel with St. Croix Triumph Surf Rod
I was given this reel about 8 years ago and I have used it twice since then. The person before me didn't use it. I took it to a local fishing store last year to get it tuned up and they put new line on it. And I have used it once since then. The rod is a St. Croix Triumph surfcasting rod, and the reel is a Penn 704. The Rod is a year old, and the reel is in very nice condition for what it is. Lamiglas Surf King 11' Fishing Rod
I'm looking to sell my 11 foot Lamiglas Surf King rod. Its only been used about 4-5 times on the beaches of Maine. Its never been dunked in saltwater or any other water for that matter. I have used it a handful of times. It has obvious signs of use! After each time off numerous piers or beaches it was washed down with fresh water to minimise wear from the salt water. Please view ALL the pics and i do highlight some of the knocks and bumps shown in pic#s 8.14&16. Pic#8 shows the eye pieces, the metal is slightly pitted/rusted from sea water but only a little. When it is put away it measures just over 3& a half feet, when it is at full length it is 15 foot long shown in last pic. It has four extension pieces but has five eyes. the second from top one adjusts into position on the last extendable piece as shown in pic#7. Please note the tip section is slightly longer then bottom section and rod is several inches over 13 feet in length, there is a space between the two sections when you put it together, if your unfamiliar this is normal you can see in the last photo. The gentleman who gave me this rod sveral years back stated it was rated for 4-12oz easy and could go higher too. It is a very heavy heavy surf rod. I don't know what makes it made of but blank is graphite, and guides look stainless. You can see the wraps in the photos. I normally dont go ... morepast 6oz so I have only used this a couple of times and was already well used when I acquired it. It is a unique piece for serious heavy duty bait fishing from the surf, the guy who had it before me had a 646 Newell on it, I used it with a 114 6/0 senator but you could easily go lighter or bigger, reel best bet 3/0-9/0 pending on your style of fishing. This is a light weight two piece long casting Vintage 9' Berkley Buccaneer Ocean Surf Fishing Rod. The rod is in very good condition with some paint scratches. It has a cork handle with a double locking aluminum reel seat and a rubber but cap. The shaft is yellow with brown threading. The chrome is very nice. The rod breaks down to 56 1/2" long for travel. VINTAGE KUNNAN 10' SURF ROD SPINNING GRAPHITE
Up for sale or best offer is a vintage Kunnan 10' spinning surf rod. Med/heavy power. 12-25 lb line, 2-4oz. This rod is about 20 years old but still in very good condition. It has a collapsible line guide for ease of storage. The only modification is that the first guide was re threaded on but it's solid. This rod was manufactured in the USA at Kunnan before their facility burned down unlike the new ones that are made in China. This is a very good surf rod for the money and old Kunnans are still used a lot on the Outer Banks. These surf rods are hard to find. I hate to let it go, but will I am moving away from the coast. Almost perfect vintage surf rod; Garcia Conolon model 2165T 91/2 ft. Fast Taper medium action. 2 pcs. beautiful fishing rod,and I don't like fishing. Cork grip for comfort, extra large rear grip for that really long cast. This is a unique rod in the collection I received, there are 10+fly rods-6-8 spinners,mostly with zepco reels, but this is the only ocean rod in the lot. My guess is he got an invitation to go/stay at the shore, either business or personal, he couldn't say no to. I'm sure they plan to go fishing and he went& bought this rod. Knowing my family he got a deal on the rod. because the factory messed up the Garcia sticker(maybe gave him a used case/sock too) They all love scratch&dent stuff,you can get top quality but pay less" is are motto some times. Anyway sorry.CONDITION; the only blemish I could find ... moreis where the two pieces fit together(so when the rods in one piece you don't see it) also the tip is discolored, it doesn't look like the other eyelets. Is it made of a different material? I posted pictures of both issues, the sock on the other hand does show its age, with a 3/4 inch hole in it(see picture) Looks like he took this rod out once, fished in the ocean for an hour or 2, enough not to be rude and put the rod away for good. He was a mountain/pocono person,unlike me who is a beach/shore person. ORVIS BAMBOO SURF ROD 9 1/2'
ORVIS Bamboo Surf Spin Rod. Serial# 16288. Built 9/8/1954. 15 3/4 oz. 31/64 ferrule size. Butt section is 57" tip 61" The total cork length with reel seat is 33 1/2" and 4" fore grip. I think this rod is rare or at least very unusual. The other surf rods listed in the catalogues are all one piece tip. This rod is the heaviest Orvis rod I have seen other than the long two-hand salmon rods. The ferrule is almost 1/2" I do not think the rod was ever used or at least never saw the water. The cloth bag is almost new condition and original to the rod. There is no aluminum tube.
