VINTAGE Silaflex MAGNUM PT-80 Large Surf/Jetty Spinning Fishing Rod - SEAHORSE
You're bidding on a Nice 2 Piece VINTAGE Silaflex MAGNUM Model PT-80 Large Surf& Jetty Spinning Fishing Rod as shown. I believe it is a Browning Silaflex Rod. But does not say Browning on the rod(could be Vintage before the Browning name was added to the label) It measures 127 inches long(just a little over 10 and 1/2 feet) The handle and reel seat area alone is a whopping 36 inches long. The first set of wraps on the butt section are decorative and have the SEAHORSE emblem and the word Silaflex on it, but some of the lettering is missing. The metal reel seat area is very nice and also has the SEAHORSE emblem and the word Silaflex on it. For the vintage, the rod has a very decent appearance with only minor scrapes and nics as can be seen and is in great shape structurally with 9 very nice line guides and wraps. You can see a little ... moreyellowish color band around the wood part of the handle. This is from a twist tie that was on the handle that was removed and left a little color residue. It is missing the little gasket(o-ring) that sits in the groove on the male ferrule section, so that when inserted it would hold tightly together. The ferrule sections are nice and insert easily, but this o-ring needs to be in place to hold it tightly together. Replace the o-ring and this rod is ready to catch the big ones. I do not know the line rating, but I would describe the rod as medium to medium heavy action with enough play to know you have a fish on, but will still be able to handle the big ones. You're bidding on a Nice 2 Piece Custom made Lamiglas Surf Spinning Rod in great shape for mechanics and appearance. Judging from the guides and reel seat and handle. It doesn’t look like it has ever been used in salt water or if it has, you can’t tell it. It was custom made from a prominent rod builder in Santa Cruz, CA and has seven excellent guides and wraps. The finish is great with just a little bit of white specking on the butt section(you will hardly notice) and, as you can see, the original owner did not wish to keep his name on the rod, so the finish has been removed to remove his name(see pictures) This is only cosmetic of course and does not affect the rod in any way. You are bidding on an Okuma Solaris SSC 1202 MH-1. 12 foot surf rod. This is a conventional rod NOT a Spinner. For a factory rod this one does a really great job. It is rated for 20 to 40 lb line but does well with 20# Suffix. Rated lure weight is 3-8 ounces but it hurls 6 and bait way on past the breakers. distance from the butt to the middle of the real seat is 29 inches. You can generate a lot of power and the rod loads really well for those really long casts. Great tip action as well. I would rate this a 9 out of 10 as far as cosmetics and functionality. I hate to part with it but I have far too many Rods that are custom made. I paid over 125.00 for this rod so hopefully you will get a deal. Hello. Unfortunately I have to let this Awesome Custom CTS Surf rod go. This is the Ferrari of Long distance Surf Fishing rods. I spared no expense when I had this rod made(over 700 dollars and 200 to have it rebuilt so over 900 total) I actually had it built once and did not like it so I sent it to another rod builder to have him rebuild it and it came out WONDERFUL the only thing is when it was rebuilt some of the guides were removed and re-spaced for ultimate distance and there was some paint loss(view photos) due to the color of the rod it is barely noticeable unless you are really close to the rod(6 inches? Does NOT effect anything! The rod is made with ALL Fuji lowrider distance guides And was built on the 13' 6" 4-8oz CTS S8 surf series rod blank. It also has x shrink wrap grips(super light weight) and a Perfection aluminum ... morereel seat which I LOVE! Extremely strong you never have to worry about this breaking. Up for sale is a hard to find ugly stik custom surf rod. Rod is a two piece with all guides on the second half. Purchased the rod for freshwater catfishing but way to much power for the cats in my area. The rod has great flex in the top half and super powerful in the butt section. Barely used about a dozen times for catting in which it's just sitting in a rod holder. Reel seat is tight.All guides in perfect condition and tight wrapped, original tiptop also. I hate to part with this wonderful rod. But have only used it twice and I am moving. This is a 10'6" surf rod, casting model: SUR 1266C. It responds well to loading and throwing baits from 1 to 5 ounces using line weights of 15-40 lb. test. This is not a"heaver" rod although it is listed as a"Heavy" model, but is well suited for slinging lures and throwing chunks with up to 5 ounces of weight. Over that weight and it will not perform optimally. It has a superb sandpapery feeling grip which is wrapped in rubber.which is unique to G Loomis. An Ultra sensitive and pleasurable rod to have in your hands.

The(made in America) reel works perfectly. The rod has only been to the beach once and is like new. The rod will be shipped in a Bass Pro Shop rod tube. The reel in a separate box.
