In 1927. Heddon bought the Outing Manufacturing Company of Elkhart, Indiana, primarily for their line of tackle boxes. These boxes were only made for a few years and there were 6 different ones offered according to the advertisement, 3 in what Heddon called the"Prize Angler" which came in a beige color enamel and 3 in the Green Spanish Leather color called the"Master ... moreAngler. The Master Angler was the top-of-the-line model and came in 3 sizes, 12" 16" and 21" This one is the largest of the sizes offered at 21" which sold at the time for $10 and is the best of all the boxes offered. Measuring 21" in length. It is approximately 7" in height and 6" in width. It is a cantilevered box that has two metal trays, one of which has 12" ruler markings on the face. On the inside of the top is a Heddon-Outing logo sticker which, as the picture shows, does have some wear to it. The inside shows wear but no severe rust. The outside has wear to the finish the most of which is on the bottom. One feature of this box is that it comes with the ORIGINAL keys(2) that lock the box! These are marked OW10 on one side and CORBIN CABINET LOCK CO NEW BRITAIN CONN USA. This would be a major addition to any tackle box collector. The exterior finish was Green but is quite worn. The interior compartments are lacquered tin. The box has a heavy metal handle. The loop for the latch I replaced. Great Fishing Tackle Catalogs of the Golden Age" is a 344 page. 8.5"x11" hardcover edited by Samuel Melner& Herman Kessler, and published in 1972 by Crown. From the flap: Here- in the fine, free frenzy of bygone copywriters' prose- are old rods and reels, Rube Goldberg gadgets brough to market with the blast of trumpets, African Steel Vine' rods and other absurdities, belt worm-boxes for some reason labeled in French. And a host of other delicious items. The book is in good condition. The dust jacket is now protected by mylar but has a 1.5" tear near the spine top, a couple smaller tears along the edges, some spots and rubbing. It's price-clipped. The cover has wear at the spine ends, a small stain on front. The only interior marks are in pencil on the 1st page. The binding is firm.

VTG South Bend & ORENO Fishing Tackle , Folding Store Display, Advertising Sign
Up for bid is part of a 1920's folding store display for South Bend and Oreno Fishing Tackle. It has some problems. The two outside panels are completely missing. I included a photo of a complete display to show you that a smallmouth bass and brook trout are missing. It needs some glueing on the edges and one seam is totally off. I will not reglue the seam. Because it will ship better if I don't. There are two mouse holes at the bottom of two panels. The backs are dirty. It is about 29 1/2" high and 34" wide. These two tool boxes are used. But not abused. There is a crack in one of the trays. This is probably the most basic box ever put out by Old Pal. It's approx 12 3/4 x 6 x 4 3/4 inches.
