Up for bid one Vintage Brass Fly Reel with a swept crank handle. 2:1 Multiplier and stop lever. This reel is constructed of brass. There is a no clicker. There is a lever brake. It is in poor working condition due to wear. The handle has a wood knob and the handle has a swept shape. The foot riveted to a bottom support bar. There are no markings on the reel. It is a very attractive reel and works when held upside down(foot facing up) But has a lot of looseness from wear. It measures 1-3/4" diameter. 3-3/8" deep including the handle, and has a foot measuring 2-9/16" long by 5/8" wide. It weighs 5.3 ounces, with packaging it will ship at 10 ounces. Vintage Hardy "Gem" Mk I Fly Reel
A vintage Hardy Mk I"Gem" fly reel manufactured between 1961-1969. Marked on back in block letters-THE 3/58" GEM HARDY BROS LTD MAKERS ALNWICK ENGLAND. It has paint wear along the back rim and on the reel edges as well. The spool is non-perforated and seems to be spun from aluminum. The reel mechanism functions well. It has a nice purring click. It has an adjustable flip type lever drag knob and a black reel seat and handle. A well used-but fully functional fly reel. No returns- so please feel free to ask any questions before bidding. Vintage Ted Williams Automatic 470 Fly Fishing Reel Sears 3115 fish collectible
Well here's a really cool thing I found down in my basement that the previous owner of my house must have left behind: a Ted Williams automatic fly fishing reel made by Sears Roebuck. With the original hangtag, vinyl case and cardboard box, plus some pamphlets that were in the box. The reel itself looks hardly used, and as if it could be cleaned up to look practically new, but I didn't try to clean it. It has a heavy duty green cord wrapped inside. The box is in very rough shape, and doesn't hold together on the sides, but the writing is still clear on the front of it: Ted Williams Vertical Automatic Fly Reel no. 3115 Sears Roebuck and Company, Made in USA, and there's the original $13.50 price sticker. The vinyl case has writing on it in pen: Christopher Albert Peck, from Gramp, with glass fly rod. Kinda sweet! I wish I had ... morea Gramp to give me a fishing pole and fly reel back in the day. There's a Ted Williams stamp and gold triple crest logo on the case. The zipper's very sticky so I didn't mess with it for fear of breaking it, but maybe with some lubricant it would work better. Up for bid one Vintage STAR Reverse S-Handle Brass Fly Reel w/2:1 Multiplier- unmarked as to manufacturer. But identified as being manufactured by the STAR REEL WORKS, Birmingham, Ct. through online articles identifying the patented foot design, reverse S-handle, and simple handle knob. The article actually showed this identical model reel. This reel is constructed of brass with raised pillars. There is a clicker controlled by a slide button on the rear plate. It is in good working condition. The reverse S-handle has a wood knob. There are no screws used to assemble this reel except two for the front cover and one for the handle, all other fastening is through peened tabs. Overall it is in good condition. There is a small rectangular opening in the rim of the front cover(see photos) There is nothing under the cover other than the gears for ... morespeed multiplication and no signs that there was ever any thing else. So why the opening is a mystery. Perhaps it was used because of a stock shortage in plain covers.
