I obtained the Horrocks-Ibbotson rod and the Meisselbach reel from an antique dealer in Seattle. WA many years ago and have had it displayed with my vintage fishing collection. Thus, it has not been used. The cork handle on the rod is in excellent condition and guides are in good shape. The rod is approximately 9.3 ft in length and has an extra rod tip. It was made in Utica NY. The entire set is stored in a vintage canvas case that contains an alumumn tube that portects the rod sections. Good condition Vintage K-Mart 55 Automatic Fly Reel w/ Beige Fly Line. I do not know much about reels but will try and describe it. There is a beige fly line on the reel as you see in pictures. This reel is marked K-Mart Corporation. on the bottom of the reel foot it shows.Manufactured In Japan. Troy Michigan. 48084. As you see in picture 1 it has a large wind up knob that is basically the whole side. That is the knob you turn to wind the reel spring. When you push down on the lever that sticks out from the reel the reel spool turns to wind up the line and seems to work good/smooth. As you look at the pictures you can see it does show normal wear. It does need a good cleaning and I will leave that up to you, but reel nice condition. This reel is in good condition as you can see and does seem to work good. Julius Vom Hofe Reel - Antique vintage old Fly fishing reel German Silver Scarce
JVH REEL Antique Julius Vom Hofe Fishing reel. This is a scarce fly reel model. Looks great. Has a few issues. Foot marked 2- otherwise unmarked that I can see. The issues are the foot has been soldered on one side as seen in the pics. The clicker does not work. The hard rubber on the rear plate spins inside the german silver outer ring. I think the hard rubber may have shrunk a bit over the last 100 yrs and it just doesnt seat as well as it did. I thought about putting a bit of epoxy on the edge to secure it but I thought I leave it alone since I didnt want to ruin anything. There are no cracks in the hard rubber. I did clean it with soap and water but it has not been polished or scrubbed. You are buying it as is- my description is very accurate. I think I have pointed out its flaws well. EARLY 1930's ALLCOCK"PERFECTION FLICK-EM" REEL Absolutely superb vintage alloy reel by S.Allcock& Co Ltd Redditch England. Measuring 4" diameter with.5" wide drum. It is in excellent overall condition. Spool spins very freely with no play on the spindle. Perfect working ratchet mechanism, and screw adjustable drag. Its only fault being a missing handle although remaining handle is secure and perfect. Stamped on side face as in photo with stag trademark and the Allcock brand name. Buyer to pay postage. Up for bid is one Vintage JULIUS VOM HOFE Nickel Plated Brass Fly/Casting Reel with 4:1 Multiplier. This reel is engraved on the front metal plate with"JULIUS VOM HOFE. PAT. OCT. 8, 89" The spool. Pillars, body plates, and foot are nickel plated brass in fair to good condition. There is brass showing on about 20% of the face plates and foot. The handle knob appears to be hard rubber. There is a clicker controlled by a slide button on the rear plate and drag control from a hard rubber slide button on the front cover. It is in good working condition and good overall condition with the exception of some plating loss. This reel could be a casting reel. It measures 2" diameter. 3-3/16" deep including the handle, and has a foot measuring 2-7/16" long by 9/16" wide. Vintage Fishing Montague Fly Rod & Reel 9 Feet 4 Inches Long With Cloth Case
Up for auction is a vintage Montague Redwing 9 foot 4 inch fly rod from the 50s or early 60s. It is in a canvas case that has a tear in it about 2 1/2 inches long and 3/4 inch wide. The pole comes in 3 pieces with an extra 3rd piece as shown in pictures 1.5,6, and 7. I know nothing about fishing poles so I took this one to a sporting goods store and was advised that it is a very old pole in very good condition. There is nothing broken on the pole and all of the parts are there. The adjustment screw for the drag(whatever that is) is missing on the reel. He said that many of these poles were produced in the 50s and 60s and they aren't particularly rare, except this one, although its been used,is in great condition. He also said that many times the tips break off the pole. Selling a very clean vintage USA made Martin MG3 SS fly reel. I bought the reel new in the 80's and it is very clean with only slight wear and minimal scratches from honest use. Overall the reel is very clean. The buyer will not be disappointed. The photos in the sale add show the reel on various vintage fly rods showing how the reel adds a bit of nostalgic class to a vintage rod. Up for bid is one Vintage ABBEY& IMBRIE Nickel Plated Brass Fly Reel with 2:1 Multiplier. This reel is engraved on the front cover with"ABBEY& IMBRIE. N.Y. PAT. JAN. 17, 82, PAT. OCT. 8, 89" These patent dates are those of Julius Vom Hofe. Who was one of the manufacturers of reels for Abbey& Imbrie. The foot has numerous marks and dents indicating it was straightened. The handle knob appears to be hard rubber. There is a clicker controlled by a slide button on the rear plate. It is in good working condition and good overall condition with the exception of about 20% plating loss. Based on the foot having a center hole and the use of a spring type washer on the rear cap it further identifies Julius vom Hofe as the manufacturer. On the bottom of the foot there is the number"696" or"969" depending on ... morewhich orientation is correct. It measures 2-3/16" diameter. 3-5/16" deep including the handle, and has a foot measuring 2-7/16" long by 9/16" wide. It weighs 7.1 ounces. With packaging it will ship at 12 ounces. Collectors Item: Here we have a featherlight fly fishing reel which was the forerunner of copy cat fly reels from the 1920’s to the‘60’s. In 1896. Gus Meisselbach patented the design and 3 raised piller Featherlights were created: the#280, 260, and#270. They were made of both bronze and nickel. This reel. Made of bronze-the#270, is in excellent working condition. The bronze and the wooden oak? or mahogany? handle is in excellent condition as well.
