Ambassadeur 9000 in red manufactured by ABU in Sweden. The reel foot nr is 090600. Which represents a bit of a mystery to me. According to the usual interpretation of Ambassadeur lot numbers issued between 1964-1969, this would indicate a production in September(09" of 1966(06" This appears strange because the Ambassadeur 9000 was first introduced to the Swedish market in 1969(see page of Swedish ABU catalogue from 1969) In any case. This is definitely the first version of the Ambassadeur 9000 as indicated by the last 2 digits"00" of the foot number. In fact, this reel is probably one of the very first Ambassadeur 9000 ever produced. The reel is accordingly equipped with the"pancake" style handle. The reel comes with the original. Earliest version of the box(the lot number printed on the box matches the reel ... morefoot number) protective leather bag, tool, rod mounting kit, full spare parts tube, oil bottle and manual. Obviously, the 9000 was introduced to the American market already in 1967 and assembly of the first reels started in the fall of 1966. Vintage ABU Record Ambassadeur 5000 MOD SG reel (1952)
ABU Record Ambassadeur 5000 MODEL SG(Sfaeriska Glidlager" = spherical bushings) in very nice original condition. The reel has been lightly used and there are a few nicks on the rims(see pictures) The reel does not show any corrosion and works perfectly mechanically. The reel has the typical dark-red color of the earliest Ambassadeur reels. The MODEL SG reels do not have a number on the reel foot and come with all-grey spool and starwheel brake. The MODEL SG is one of the earliest versions of the Ambassadeur reel and the initial deliveries were made late in 1952. The reel then made it's"official" debut in the 1953"Napp o Nytt" ABU's Swedish catalogue. The"MOD SG" engraving on the left side plate was then dropped after a short time which makes those reels very rare and special. The reel comes with ... morethe original leather etui. Vintage Penn Leveline#350 reel This reel was made in The USA from the late 50s through the 60s and is in excellent condition and was probably only used fairly litely. The chrome has some very lite wear but is clean and shiney. The side plates are solid, the gears, drag, free-spool, level-wind, click are near perfect. It has a 3.0/1 gear ratio and will hold about 300 yds. of 30 lb.test and is a grade 8+/9. It wieghs 20oz. and was designed primarely for saltwater use. It comes with a metal spool and a creme colored handle knob. If you are not happy with an item returns are fine but the buyer pays shipping. The reels I sell are 98% used. And in between 20& 100 years old. Most are far from perfect, so I some times use the Orca grading system, the first no. is how it looks and the second how it works. Reel features maroon sideplates with chromed brass inside& outside rim guards, handle& star drag, and reel foot of course, with plates held apart by four(4) chromed brass pillars with wide open top for"thumbing" the spool of course. Also has the HD reel seat marked: 30-200" with twin square holes for the factory rod strap screws, plate, wing nuts(NOT included but easily obtained on-line) plus heavy duty, chromed spool, small parts, counter-balanced handle with green"swirl" plastic finger grip as well. This old school Squidder#140 Reel probably dates back into the 1960s era, and has already stood the test of time with flying colors.See Photos) Reel ... moremeasures about 5 3/4" across from left sideplate with chromed bearing cover& functioning"clicker" button across to the right sideplate on top of the chromed nut holding the handle& star drag on. Right sideplate has the"free spool lever" at top above the gearbox, which is molded right onto the plate for strength. Most suitable for 3 to 5 weight lines/rods has capacity to handle a DT5 line plus 30 yards of 20lb backing. Can be fished with either left or right handed retrieve by simply spooling line in the proper direction. Spool overrun is maintained by a caliper spring and click pawl which can be tuned by annealing, shaping, and then re-tempering the spring. It drags when a dial is turned. It spins freely when another knob is turned. In other words it looks like it would cast a line. Hold its position and reel back in when the big fish is caught. It takes 1 lb to 8 lb line so not for the big guys. Nice for sitting in a boat on a dreamy day or sitting on the bank with a picnic basket. Vintage ABU Ambassadeur Model 6000 reel
This auction is for an Ambassadeur model 6000 fishing reel. Including case, oil bottle and container with parts. This item is in used condition and comes as is. It is from my father's estate and was purchased and used in the late sixties to early seventies. The reputation and quality of these reels is well known. I would normally keep this for my own use, but I already have one. Overall condition is good and comes with a right handed crank.The level wind works as it should. The release button clicks in. And releases smoothly. I have not tested it on the water but would expect it to function without a problem. There is some minor pitting and discoloration on the support bars as can be seen in some of the photos. In my opinion this would not affect the operation of the reel. VINTAGE BRASS PLATE WIND REEL MADE IN ENGLAND
This is a ventage solid brass plate wind casting reel wich is considerd a trade reel of wich of many that was made and used and sold in hardware stores in the late 1800s. This reel is in excelent condition with a strong clicker that would have been used on a short bamboo rod and could still be used or set in an office as a conversation peice as it is about 2 1/2 inches in diameter there is no makers mark other than made in england stamped on the side it would be a great christmas gift for the avid fisherman to collect. Admire, fish, or use as a decrotive paper weight this reel also comes from my own extensive collection witch I am selling to help raise money for a foundation to start helping foster kids and others being involved in fly fishing so good luck and thanks for looking I will be listing many other items shortly including vintage ... morehardy reels and salmon flies.

Really nice three screw Abu 5000 here. Big A. Only minor scratches on this one.as shown. Still has some cleaning to do on this one. But I did get alot of grime off of it. Needs oil too. Works fine.
