Early Winston Graphite Fly Rod (San Francisco) - 8' for 5 wt line
Beautiful early Winston graphite rod. This rod is labeled with the San Francisco markings on both the rod and tube. The grip is very fine in diameter. Incorporating a unique cork and ring reel seat. The rod casts a five weight line smoothly and with efficiency, although I have only lawn cast the rod. The condition is very good, showing a very slight dulling of the rod's sheen due to its age. I'm not sure this rod has ever been fished, although I cannot say for sure. There is some slight discoloration of the cork which I've shown in the photos. this appears to be a natural imperfection in the cork, but I cannot say for sure. The ferrules are an overlap design(not the spigot system associated with the later IM6 winston traditional rods) These early Winston graphite rods are rarely available, this is a chance to own a piece of fly ... morefishing history.
