For those unaware it is the part which sits inside the table lighters that contains a small amount of wadding. This is taken from the lighter and lit using the flame then used to light your cigar. It’s the kind of piece that is often missing from table lighters and extremely hard to replace. It is in super condition being free from dings splits and repairs. It measures 3 inches(7.6cms) long by 1.1cms wide across the disc section(i.e. would cover an aperture 1cm and under) It weighs 13 grams. For auction is a used 5 oz. tin of NEVR-DULL magic wadding polish with most of the wadding still in it. The wadding still smells and works but not as good as when it was new. The wadding has also shrunk as it dried out. It has a copyright of 1941 but this can was bought around 1971 to polish brass. It still has the price on it of $1.79. The tin is in good condition. This is a vintage 5 oz. can of nevr-dull the original magic wadding polish. This can is from 1941. Still has the stuff inside. The can is in wonderful shape. Very nice color. If you take the lid off it the brim has some brownish color along the rim(you can see in the pictures) it looks almost as tho it's from the polish. The directions are on the back of the can. This is a very old pair of militaria. Possibly used for ceremonial purposes. These are Ottoman in origin, Turkish or Bosnian. Made of solid brass, they are small and heavy, and made by hand entirely. The gun powder flask is teardrop shaped, with hinges on the sides, which would have had leather straps. Designs are engraved by hand on both sides. On one side of the flask, there is a dent, where it is pushed in- can't imagine what sort of force necessary to impose that, as the metal is so thick. The flask measures 2 3/4" long and 2" wide. With a weight of 86 grams. The other piece. Which would have held the grease and wadding, has a hinged lid in good working condition, as well as the hinges on the sides for the leather strap. This rare tin manufactured by The George Basch Co. in 1941 appears to be from the first production run. Other tins that were manufactured from this time state that they were produced in Freeport. NY while this tin shows it was made in New York city. This may have been due to the manufacturing operations being moved out of the city after the initial run. This unique feature makes it more rare and harder to find than other tins. The slogan on this tin differs from others in the same time period because it features the phrase"New wonder polish" that other tins do not have.
