Rings have a f ew lite splits seen in the photos. Crank. Star and lever some lite wear and good shape. Spool has finish wear and weathering but good solid shape. Sits true and spins great. Plates some wear and also good s olid shape. Finish wear but a good solid pie ce in all. The super-sized and zoom-able photos show the reel quite well. Two. Cabela's Fish Eagle 2, 8 1/2 foot, 8-12 pound line and 3/8- 3/4 ounce line rated 2 piece rods. One is a bait casting model and one is a spinning model. Both are used but fished very little and are in very good to excellent condition. The handles of both rods have been shortened a couple of inches and nice rubber butt caps were professionally installed. Used Slightly smaller in size than the PENN 309(bigger than the 109 and 9) But takes the same 350 yards of 20 pound test. 2 ball bearings, 3.75:1 gear ratio, 19 ounces. Appears to be in good working order, but I am no reel mechanic. They all can benefit from a good cleaning and servicing. As for the guts of the all the Level Wind series of reels. A precision machined stainless steel pinion and high strength bronze alloy main gear provides some serious cranking power. Check my other sales. I listed this gem as used. Because I don't have the box or manual, but I don't see any signs that this little 750 Pro Spin has every been used. It looks new, operates perfectly, and it's silky smooth, I might add, and with ball bearings. This is not a reel I have seen before. But a quick search on the internet produced information about other, high-end Shima reels. Consequently, I don't know if this is China's upgraded designed intended to compete with the Japanese Shimano- I simply don't know, but it does appear to be a quality made reel, unlike some of the cheaper ones I've seen in Wal-Mart, or the local tackle store. This is a vintage Penn 285 reel. All of the functions of this reel work like new and are tight. Break, drag, clicker, bearings ect. There might be a spec or two of crome missing on the reel if any, 1 scratch on the casing(handle side) and some fading to both sides from age. Overall condition is 9/10 for this vintage Penn reel. This is a great read and a great treasure trove of techniques and history of the sport.some of the catches from years ago were caught in photographs which are record breaking! The mention of Ernest Hemingway. Zane Gray just to name a few. The book is in like-new condition,the hardcover is fine, it looks like its never been read,it was my fathers who was an avid fisherman.
