On the backside, it is engraved in French the instructions for removing the back to insert the license. It translates into English “To open lift this end and slide.” Similarly designed American made license holders were produced in the 1930s and 40s. Unfortunately, I do not know the age of this one. This auction is for: A vintage. Scarce, 1930 WISCONSIN NON-RESIDENT FISHING LICENSE" Pinback Celleloid Button. The round pin back button measures 1 3/4" in diameter, has black printing on Yellow& White background, with Wisconsin printed in Red. Low Number#16735. WI Non-Residentall License buttons were ONLY issued during 1928- 1930- 1931& 1932. On edge of button in green print reads: Allied Printing- Trades Council- Union Label- Chicago- 232" Stamped into the reverse is: Cruver Mfg Co PAT Chicago" Note- there is no flaking or cracking on pin. But it does have some light brown staining along the edges as shown in photos.
