Check out some of these articulated, double-hook flies. I have been ... moremusky fly-fishing for quite awhile and have spent many hours on the water. During that time. I have tied and used several patterns, but the pattern I have available on this listing continues to be my go-to fly. My buddy and I get on the water approximately 30 times a year. And over the past couple years, we have put over nearly 20 fish in the boat each year, predominantly with this fly pattern. The flies measure approximately 12" long. And they are made with deer hair(head) bucktail, long feathers, marabou, and flash. The two hooks are connected with a double loop of 20lb steel leader(American Fishing Wire) which makes the articulation(photo 7) The back of the fly includes long. Flowing feathers for extra action, and the head is made of deer hair, which pushes water and helps your fly move in several directions, upon retrieval. The hooks are Gamakatsu 4/0 Heavy Cover Worm hooks(can also tie in 5/0- just let me know) These hooks have a narrow profile and are extremely stout. Which helps keep the weight down on the fly for easier casting, and the stoutness is there for a heavy hook-up(photo 8) You may find that these flies are little more expensive than others you may see listed. But. One thing you will find- I am a musky fisherman 99% of my time on the water, and these flies work. You get what you pay for! See for yourself! Grundens Foul Weather Suit Slicker Youth 12 Years
Up for sale a REALLY NICE set of Grundens foul weather(slicker) gear. Grundens is worn by the commercial fisherman in the Cape May. NJ area where I live. I bought this set for my son at the local SeaGear outfitter for over $200 for the set. Once again this is the real deal NOT Chinese junk. It is top of the line rubberized plastic overalls with an overlapping jacket with hood. It is safety orange in color. All the elastic straps and snaps are intact. Snaps are high quality stainless steel with a double seam to keep the sea out. They look new with no rust.Color is bright and straps are clean. The raincoat has a few light dark smudges on it but they are light and don't effect the material just light soiling from being used on the boat a few times. The set doesn't have any salt or musty smell because I fresh water washed after the veryfew ... moretimes it was used. Grundens sizes are weird and in childrens sizes it goes by age. These say age 12 in them so it would fit the average 12 year old. My son is big and was in these at 10 and out of them at 12. Then I bought him adult size stuff. So if you have a child at that hard to find"adolescent" size stage between adult and child these are perfect.
