There is no markings on the box to tell where it is from and I can find no records or pictures of this type of a gift box. I have had this set for a period of time and have searched to try to find information on where it is from and what was originally in the set. I acquired this set in a tackle collection from a gentleman who had collected tackle for over 60 years. The rod is a four piece metal rod with glass agate eyes with nickel/silver guides and are silver solder. It measures 53 1/4" with all sections put together. The reel is a Lion LW reel No. 1800 made by Bronson Reel Co. made in U.S.A. The reel and line are in good condition with all functions in good working order. The ... morewooden spool of line is Cortline Brand by Cortland Line Co. Inc. The spool is in good condition and still has some line left on it. The lure on the right is a Pike Oreno made by South Bend. This wooden lure with glass eyes is in very good condition. The lure on left is is a rare Heddon Dowagiac No. 1800 Crab Wiggler in a frog pattern. This wooden lure with glass eyes is in very good condition. The gift box is in fair condition. The inside of the box looks good and shows well. The outside is in rough condition with black tape around the edges. RARE! 1950's Quick Rod & Reel Fishing Set - One of a Kind
D.A.M. Quick Rod& Reel Fishing Set. Purchased from the Bamberg Germany Rod and Gun Club in the mid 1950's by my Uncle. Reel is a unique folding crank model 218, handle folds to fit in carrier and I rate as excellent, Rod is 5 section cork handle with hole in the end, cork has some hook damage and is overall very good. Rod appears to have"Grip-Rod" and"No. 75" there is another word in German that I cannot make out. Instructions are excellent and in German Only. The carrier in nice with some loose lining shown in photos thet Could be glued back down. Carrier is cardboard covered with vinyl as were suitcases from this era. 4 latches, two snaps and one zipper all work. I did not do any cleaning, so it will be much better when cleaned. I have not seen a Quick brand Rod of any kind, a reel of this model nor a nice set ... morelike this on Ebay.

The owner being in his late 70's said his father made it and fished Keweenaw Bay off of Lake Superior for trout. It could have been used in the open water jigging straight down for fish. The spool spins freely and it could be used if desired. The eyelets are made out of red brass or copper. It measures 21 1/2" long. 2 Rare 1930s Premax Steel Fishing Rod / Reel Niagra
For sale at a buy it now fixed price is this rare find from an estate sale in the Niagra Falls/Buffalo area.two Premax Fishing Rod and Reel combos. These were only produced briefly in the 1930s by a steel company in Niagra Falls that tried to diversify from its stamped steel(particularly signs) product lines. Both the rods and the reels are unusual. Note the hand friction brake. It is stiff steel on steel. If the trigger is not squeezed the reel doesnt turn. Also note the swing arm for the line feed can be put in several locations and are in fact turned differently on the two reels. Once the reel is removed the top portion of the rod can be loosened and turned as the user wishes. The feed move freely to align, and then the reel is reinstalled. Each rod is made of steel. As is the reel, with hand turned wood portions as you see. The rods are ... moreabout 51 inches long and the reels about 4 3/4 inches in diameter. Each reel has the original brown finish on it(the only one of these Ive seen before had a wire brush taken to it and all of the finish removed) There is a Premax, Niagra Falls decal on the back of each reel. One decal is worn but in fair shape and readable. The other is nearly all missing. Each rod has one eye and a tip top. One of the tip tops is damaged. The other is a replacement(not difficulty with a steel rod.just soldered on. One of the eyes is damaged and one is intact. The reels are complete, and turn freely when the brake is released. The only drag system is the hand brake. The wood is good. I suspect these may have had a rubber cap, rather like a cane cap, on the end just based on the way that they look. Vintage H. F. Cox Fishing Worm Box, Grand Rapids Bait Reel Rod Lure Line Tackle
This is an old H.F. Cox worm box that is from Grand Rapids Michigan. There is a paper label that is on top of the box that reads"Cox Line" H. F. Cox Company" Grand Rapids Michigan" The"Cox Line" is barely visible but was able get a clear picture by angling the camera with the light. The box is in perfect working order. with 4 rakes to bring up the worms when the side wheel is turned. There are two belt clips on the back to run a belt strap through. There is some paint missing, my guess is 40% missing. The lid is flap spring activated, you can see in picture 2 and 3, the 2 flaps where the hinge is. when you open the lid, it pops back open. and you flip it and it automatically shuts till you flip back. This is a clever device made with American enginuity. I have never seen another one like this. There are a couple ... morelittle ding from use. I did clean with WD-40.
