Vintage - Garcia Mitchell Match (Stripped & Polished) High Speed Fishing Reel
A Garcia Mitchell Match(stripped and polished) high Speed fishing reel. With two roller bearings and the higher speed retrieval gears, longer arm and torpedo handle. Stainless steel screws on the cover plate. It has been paint stripped and polished(not easy as normal paint stripper does not touch the paint used on later Mitchell reels) its not a perfect mirror polish as it is cast aluminum and can only be polished to a point. It looks great and could be used without fear of damaging any paintwork, it has been serviced and works well. The reel has a shallow match spool fitted. The bailarm. Anti reverse and bail arm lock works as it should, the bail arm chrome is fairly good and bright with a few marks and wear. A nice vintage match reel to use. This reel was the forerunner of the Mitchell 440 Match series of reels with Auto Bail Arms. If I remember correctly they were brought in to compete with the success of ABU's Closed Face reels which took the match circuit by storm. This model is the Mitchell 330 Otomatic. It is finished in black and is in excellent condition for a reel that has been used. Some people look after their tackle. There are very few marks or signs of wear to the finish and the reel is in good working condition. The foot number is 5881682.

1983 Mitchell 308 S Up for auction is a hard to find 308 S in box. The box, being harder to find than the reel, in any condition! The 308 S is the first time the 308 is converted to a skirted spool, and holds a certain place in Mitchell history. The reel is in very nice shape both mechanically and paint wise. Would make a nice addition to a Mitchell collectors cabinet, or take it out and enjoy fishing with it, I personally use these myself!
