But lever is a little“floppy” Bail flips crisply and correctly and reel operates smoothly…no problem there. Serial number on foot of reel is A650540. Previous owners name is scratched on the bottom of the spool that’s on the reel. Scratches and hard residue on side of reel as pictured. Reel is for parts/and or repair and use. Not the prettiest one by far! Also included in the lot are five Mitchell spools that all will fit the 300. I’m not sure if the correct spools are in the correct cases. I have no idea of the line capacity of any of the spools whereas they all contain line. All need cleanup. One spool is in a metal case and one is in a clear sided case that has damage. In any event. Vintage Mitchell 300 PRO spinning reel NIB, complete, never out of box till now!
86 Mitchell 300 PRO Up for auction. An unused, un-messed with, un-displayed, NIB 300 PRO. I bought this reel 27 years ago, when fishing and working was all that mattered. When I got it home, I slid off the sleeve, opened the box, and relalized that the way I fish, and the looks this reels had, would not turn out well, for the reel. These Pro's are works of art, and when I found out that they made about 15,000 of them total, as apposed to 1.5 million 300's give or take,I got cold feet. Like my first new car, I didn't want to be the first to scratch it. So long story short, I kept fishing with my 300's, 308's, and down the road, 810's, and 908's, but I still wouldn't mark up the Pro's. The thought of getting fish bait, or goo on it, just didn't make sense. I believe that was the beginning of my reel collecting! ... moreTime to down size in my life, and letting go of the personal ones, will get the flood gates going, sorta speak. I have quite a few in this condition, different models, and years. This is a ALL original, in the priginal box, with the original goodies package, good luck down the road, with the profit wolves, finding another one. I would like to take a minute to point out. Here is a used Mitchell 406 spinning reel for your consideration& pleasure. From my collection of over 100 Mitchell& Penn Greenie reels. I purchased this reel here on Ebay in December of 2002& it has sat in it's shipping box since then. Until now when it is once again here for sale on EBay. You will notice that this used 406 reel shows some paint loss. The chrome shows some pitting, both of which is detailed in the pics& it reels line in great& has a fairly loud clicker with a strong drag& good bale spring& to me this reel performs as it was intended. up for consideration is a mint mitchell 410 spinning reel in the box with a very rare owners manual. look for one of these manuals on ebay. please look closely at pics. They describe the reel better than i can. if you would like more pics i can post 4 more. for the folks not famillar with the 400 series reel, the 410 is identical to the 300 except it has a 5/1 retrieve ratio and has needle bearings in the rotor head a side cover and dark blue instead of black. the old lube has been removed and replaced with hightech lube in case you want to fish with this reel. feel free to ask any questions concerning this reel, don,t cost nuttun. thanks for looking

They describe the reel better than i can. if you wish to see a picture of another area i have a couple spots left that i can post 2 more pics. this reel is a 1970 model according to the numbers(A513377) it also has the rare manual, look for one of these on ebay. old lube has been removed and replaced with high tech lube in case you want to fishwith this reel. the large/deep spool has a removeable filler/arbor so it takes less line to fill the spool. for the folks that are not famillar with these auto bail reels- just put pressure on the bail wire with your forefinger, cast and release the bail, just turn the crank and the bail wire closes. feel free to ask any questions about this reel, don,t cost nuttun. thanks for looking

4 Mitchell Spinning Reels 304, 300, 308A, 3000 + extra reel canisters, reels
This is one big lot of four(4) vintage GARCIA MITCHELL Spinning Reels. They are models#s 304(in original matching serial numbered box and owners manual and warranty card) 308A, 300, and Garcia 3000. All but the 3000 are MADE IN FRANCE. The 3000 was made in Japan. All have moving levers and rotating reels, and all have handles. None have broken external parts. These are complete with thier original dust, and oil-exactly as the came straight off the rods. I have not opened up any of them at, so I cannot make any guarantees that they all function. I highly suspect some of them do work perfectly, some probably need restoration, or maybe better used as parts or body sources. Unused "Reels" '81 Mitchell 498 Sky Blue Salt Water Spinning Reel/Box/Papers
Serial# L176106. 1981 produced. This Mitchell 498"R eels" United Kingdom) version is the 2nd Sky Blue 498 version offered during the Browning years. The Browning years went from 1979-85. The 1st version had a flat spool front. This reel offers the conical spool front designed to enhance casting range. After this version. The next version seen was a black 498 in the blue box. This reel is totally unused. The bright spots on the reel foot are camera and light glare only. It has never been mounted on a rod or used at all. This is the big boy of the skirted spool, salt water spinning reel models, offered by Mitchell. It has a tremendous line capacity and the 498 is a favorite among surf casters due to it's large line capcity and PUM pickup(Manual line pickup) feature. The blue boxes produced during those years do not hold up well, ... morelike previous boxes, and especially so with the big salt water models, so it is hard to find good boxes at all from those years, but here is one of the blue boxes that came with this reel, with paperwork included. The warranty card has the picture of Barrie Wellham on it(picture not shown) The boxes and paperwork with the red wedge shaped insignia(like the Garcia wedge) with"Reels" on it is very difficult to find as these reels were marketed in the U.K. You will be glad to obtain this one. PS: There were 2 sets of 5 sky blue Salt Water Mitchell's during the Browning years. Here is the lineup: 486, 496, 496 PUM, 488, and 498. 1st set: 486, 488 with red manual bail trip, 496, 496 PUM, and 498 with flat spool front. 2nd set: 486, 488 without red manual bail trip, 496, 496 PUM, 498 with conical casting spools, for greater casting distance. All were gray spools.
