There is almost no finish wear. The only place I see is a tiny bit along the sharp edge of the heel(see pics) After cleaning. It will be near mint. The reel is marked Garcia Mitchell on the handle side& has a label saying'A Garcia Product. It says'Made in France' on the other side& has the serial#223590 on that side as well. It's a left handed reel, so I called it a 301 in the title, but it is not marked with that number. It shows light finish wear, except on the heel where there is more wear(see pics) It works fine with a smooth crank, good bail spring& click. The only problem I find is that it needs cleaning, and I'm sure would crank even more smoothly if it had a good oiling. Says MITCHELL on handle side; Made in France' on reverse. Serial number H354412. This serial number indicates that this reel was produced at the end of 1978 and would make this an early Browning version of the gray Mitchell 900 skirted spool spinning reel. The 900 is an equivalent size to the popular Mitchell 300. Only with the new skirted spool technology. This reel is as though it just came off the shelf. This Garcia Mitchell 408 premium ultra lite spinning reel comes with a black and red clam shell box with fish on the top; an extra line spool. Has no yellow reel tray, but included are copies of the manufacturer's booklet and reel schematic. Fishing Up for consideration is a vintage Garcia Mitchell 300C. Mechanically. This rare reel functions flawlessly. Cosmetically, the reel is in very nice condition for it's age. The reel has a nice black finish and all graphics are vivid. The reel does bare some ware on the tips of the foot and there is minor paint wear on the bottom edge of the case and the tip of the axel housing. There is also some minor surface scratches on the bell. Despite the cosmetic wear, this is a nice reel that is very scarce. The reel will make a great addition to a vintage tackle collection. Here is a nice vintage GARCIA MITCHELL 306 Spinning Reel. Manufactured in France SN# 457266, located on the bottom of the reel foot. This 306 is in very nice condition! I have inspected some of the internal parts and the reel is mechanically sound and performs flawlessly, very smooth action! The only issue is the return is slow and maybe needs a return spring replaced. All of the pictures will show that this 306 reel has minimal paint wear and minimal scratches or nicks. This was found at a local estate sale& the guy had a great collection and I got a lot of reels so check back as I am listing all of them this week. The internals are in Excellent Condition I disassembled this down to the bare internals for any parts that might need replacement and photographed to show the outstanding condition of this reel. ALL bushings, main gear, oscillation gear, bail bushing and gear(and grease seal) rotating head, pinion gear. everything that makes a reel work smoothly and properly- ALL are in pristine condition. The oscillation slide plate is installled from the factory with a gold color metallic coating for break-in and is normal for this piece to show'slide wear' from break in.
