Vintage GARCIA MITCHELL 301 Spinning Reel W/Manual Made In France EXC COND!!
Today we are offering this vintage GARCIA MITCHELL model 30 1 spinning reel with the original owners manual. There is a white highlighted stamp on the retrieve handle side that reads Garcia Mitchell 30 1. There is also a n embossed stamp on the opposite side that reads Made In France. The condition of this vintage reel is VERY GOOD. No broken, missing. Or repaired pieces. Cosmetically-the reel shows g ood color and finish with appro ximately 90% of the original paint in tact. This reel was used but not misused sh owing the usual scratches and scuffs with no r ust or pitting. It appears the previous owner may have opened the reel to perhaps lubr icate the reel. The screw h eads are a little marked up as seen in picture#2 in the listing pictures. Mechanically-A ll moving parts operate smoothly and are in good working condition. A more knowledgeable fishing friend thinks this reel has probably never been used-no scratches anywhere and line pick up shows no wear. Not sure of the age and serial number 372590 is on both the plastic case as well as the back of the mounting handle(photos 5& 7) Extra spool still has the paper Royal Bonnyl tag but there is a crack and hole in the spool case(photo 11) Still has 3 pieces original paperwork including the registration card-never filled out. Reels line in great& has a fairly quiet clicker with a strong drag& bale spring& to me this reel performs as it was intended. Very Nice Large Garcia Mitchell 396 Heavy Spinning Reel, works great
Here is a Mitchell 396. A classic, vintage spinning reel, and large in size. Everything is operating properly: cranking, anti-backup, bail trip, drag etc are all normal. There is no damage, no excess wear and tear, and no significant corrosion. There are a few small spots of bubbly paint lifting, and some scattered places with wear-through, all visible in the photos. The chrome parts are shiny and clean and the aluminum hardware is also in fine condition. Overall this is quite a nice spinning reel in clean condition, great for a collection display I will send a personal email invoice within a day after auction ends. It has no reel foot number that I can see. It shows a few scratches and paint missing on some of the edges as you can see. But not bad for the vintage. It comes with an old Mitchell Reel Box(don’t know if it is the original one for this reel) and tons of old Mitchell Literature(6 pieces of literature counting the warranty card) The bottom of the box has duct tape on it has shown in the photo, so if you try to remove this it may peel off some of the paint from the box. This is a Mitchell 305 5/1 ratio spinning reel made by Garcia of France. It is in excellent condition with all parts in good working order. It looks like it was used very little. There is a little paint missing along one edge. See pix#7, otherwise no flaws. I have included lots of pix so you can really see how nice it is. The box is also in excellent but not new condition. RARE Vintage Mitchell Half Bail Fishing Spinning Reel with Spindle Handle Knob
This is a RARE Vintage Mitchell Half Bail Spinning Reel with the old style Spindle Handle Knob as shown. It reels smooth(no catches) but a little stiff from being so old, but not bad. The bail mechanism works very well. The anti-reverse does not work. The push button spool release is stiff, but you can push it down to release the spool. When putting the spool back on, the spool release button will not pop up to hold the spool onto the reel(you have to take a small screw driver and push the release button back up to the top position before placing the spool back on top of the reel head) I will mention that the drag washers don’t have much play so when adjusting the drag you have either a pretty loose drag or a pretty tight drag. It says Mitchell on the side(no other numbers) It has no reel foot number. It shows a small rub on the underside ... moreedge of the main body and a few light rubs on the underside edge of the rotating head, but appearance is not bad for the vintage. Pictures show well. What you see and what I have described is what you get. I will start the bidding at $1 dollar and NO RESERVE. Every page of this booklet is perfect. Pristine is not to strong a word to use on this. Covers everything about the reel. Then gets into how to fish and tackle set ups.Complete with exploded views of the reel and a parts list. The Reel: Not sure if this was ever used. Looks- great condition. Handle ... morebinds 2/3rds way around. Very smooth until the bind. I am not a reel mechanic. But from the diagram in the guide. Disassembly looks easy enough.
